Unit works extremely well. I would recommend it. It would be great if it could handle multiple CDs.

This is a great unit, and fits nicely in a small space. I have an old model 40 which looks identical and has performed perfectly over the 5 years I have had it. I only gave it 4 stars because I only use the MP3, AM and FM features, so can’t evaluate the other modes. Both radio modes work great with the included antennas. I am glad to see they upgraded the remote, since the one on model 40 was too flimsy and the battery kept losing contact.

Use primarily for CD's. Hallmark of good sound quality for me is to be able to play at a low volume and still have clarity. This does that.

I use the CRX-332 to drive 2 Onkyo, 4-ohm shelf speakers in my kitchen. Although this receiver is intended to be paired with 6-8 ohm speakers, it performs flawlessly with my Onkyos. Love the CD feature, as I have many old CDs I enjoy listening to. Compact and powerful...excellent sound quality.

The YamahaCRX-322 has worked excellently to fill my kitchen with music. I had installed speakers in both ends of my kitchen as I love the complexity of sound shape that affords. This unit does a great job with clean sound and plenty of power for the bookshelf speakers I'm using. The additional important things for me are (1) the AM/FM tuner works very well and has many pre-sets available (2) CD player enables me to access my CD library (3) the I-Pop dock allows direct attachment and power for my 140 GB of I-Pod playlists and I can use the remote to work through the files. (4) I can attach an auxiliary musical input for even more versatility. The remote is extremely convenient and very functional. I had considered a Bose system as well, but for the money this unit serves my purposes more effectively.

One star off for two things. Lack of a switched outlet on the back of the receiver. I got the Yamaha subwoofer with this system and it shuts off manually with it's own switch. Would like to be able to use a receiver mounted switched outlet. Second, there seems to be no way to navigate through a usb memory device. Would like to be able to jump through contents instead of scrolling through from beginning to end, one file at a time. My usb memory stick has over 3,000 files on it and I'd like to be able to jump directly to the one I want, without scrolling through every one. Other than that, it's what I've come to expect from Yamaha, simply put an excellent system.

I almost did not get this outfit because of a review that stated that it would sound better if it had a sub woofer. I got it anyway and here is what I think. It is smaller than I expected, it was simple to set up, I turned on the radio FM and thought that it sounded good, reception is very good, but then I put in a Moody Blues CD and was amazed at the sound quality. Extremely clear vocals, the instrumentals were awesome and the bass told me that I do not need a sub woofer. I listened at a low level then I cranked it and it was still clear sounding and it can crank to a level that my wife will not approve of. So, this proves to me that good things can come in small packages. I for one am glad I chose the CRX-332

The stereo is overall great and the use of a iPhone/iPod as source via USB cable is great. The only negative is that the "old" iPod connector on the top (21-pin/pre Lightning) does not support the Bluetooth dongles I use in my car or for my old Sounddocks, so you can't turn it into a Bluetooth stereo

I found this gem online after the system I had died. I connected it to Bose speakers....the sound is fantastic. It was easy to set up and easy to use. I am very pleased!

This is a nice compact unit with a big sound. I love the multiple sources it uses for music including a USB flash drive. Great flexibility, built solid and sounds great!

This is very nice unit. I purchased it for the home office, Unfortunately, there is not much to choose from in the Mini/Micro component category. The CRX-332 seems to be one of the best balances of quality, features and price for its category. While it is somewhat dated (no Bluetooth, internet connection or docking for newer iPhones) it does provide auxiliary input for a Bluetooth adapter, PC, DVD, etc. It also includes a USB connection for mobile devices. It's working out quite well. So far I have paired it with Yamaha 6 ohm NS-AW150 and 8 ohm BIC DV62si speakers along with a Pinnacle 10-200 sub-woofer (sub woofer output is an important feature). I am (eagerly) awaiting the arrival of a pair of Klipsch RB-41s. Downsides: limited controls: only bass and treble for equalization, no sub-woofer crossover frequency adjustment. CD tracks and radio presets can only be accessed sequentially, not by track or preset number. Power output is limited but should be adequate for a smaller area with efficient speakers. For both the Yamaha and BIC speakers, there was discernible distortion at >75% volume. Like many products in this category, great liberties are taken in rating power, but somehow I thought a brand like Yamaha would rise above that. Consider the power ratings: 20 watts per channel at 6 ohms (NOT 8) at 1 KHz (NOT 20 -20,000 Hz) with 10% Total Harmonic Distortion. 10% THD??? Really??? Contrast this with how power rated for a Yamaha Aventage RX-A1040 receiver: 110 watts x 2, 8 ohms, 20-20,000 Hz, 0.06% THD. If the CRX-332 were rated the same way it's power would be, say 2-5 watts per channel?

the CD changer on our older Denon cd/amp unit died (it was a complex mechanical device in any event) but the separate cassette deck worked well...so we needed an CD/amp/receiver combo that would take an aux input...there are not a lot of choice out there, so when we found the Yamaha CRX332, we were thrilled...does just what we need...sound (thru Mission bookshelf speakers) is fine...and the price is right (a fifth of the Denon unit!)... Lucky that we found the unit as it appears to be out of production...

Very pleased with this system. High-quality sound, streamlined in appearance, very appealing. Easy set up. However, the thing I found very confusing was following the instructions for "Automatic preset tuning." Just didn't work, even following the instructions closely. However, when I followed the instructions for "Manual preset tuning," it worked like a charm. Afterwards, was totally pleased with this product, and how well and simply the remote control worked. Great system!

I love this Yamaha compact stereo, because it fits just about anywhere in my bedroom. It was a replacement of a SONY compact sdtereo, but the SONY wasn't this compact. I love the remote, due to everything can be done on the remolte. Currently I have a 10" SONY subwoofer arriving today. I love my bass. My 08' Kia Spectra Jams as well. It has 2 12" subs and 2 amps. I'll be jamming till I start loosing my hearing. Until then, BOOMING ON !!!

I use it as a second "mini" sound system in my den and because it's smaller I can even position it so you can hear it at a "Yard Party." Great quality.

I purchased this in early January 2014 to replace a 20+ year old Sony receiver that quit working. I also wanted to reduce the footprint/size of the equipment so that it would fit on a bookshelf in our family room. I also got rid of a Sony CD changer that was about 15 years old. I am very pleased with this little receiver and single CD player. Have it connected to smaller Boston Acoustics bookshelf speakers and subwoofer. Sound is crisp and have enough power to listen to my favorite acoustic guitar and smooth jazz artists. A+ Yamaha!

Everything about this little receiver is just great except one thing, in order to receive FM stereo broadcast you must let this unit auto tune, there is no way it let you receive stereo broadcasts any other way, to be quite honest I do not like not being able to decide for myself if I want to manually tune to stereo broadcasts or switch to mono, if the reception is a little noisy, so what, it should be my decision to listen or not, and not some overpaid Yamaha engineer! Other than that it is a great product! The preset tune up and down buttons on the remote are on the very bottom of the remote, this makes pushing the buttons very difficult if you hold the remote in the tradition way. I mean if you hold the remote in your palm facing up it is very hard to push these buttons with your thumb. The USB port is easy to use and plays my flash drive with ease and accuracy. As I said the product is great except for what I noted above, especially the bad placement of the remote buttons, thinking of buying a universal remote to use with this unit just to get better button placement! Would have given it 5 stars otherwise. I might have given it 10 lol!

Remote is fully functional (tone, balance, station and input select) yet simple enough to use without manual. One minor problem: Power to the usb port is only available when usb input is selected. Thus, portable audio devices cannot be powered when used as input.

It takes up zero room, yet provides mega sound and clarity. It's Yamaha, there is no substitute.

Listen to music all the time. Easy to use for radio, CD, i-pod and USB port is a nice surprise addition. This is my third Yamaha product, and I have never been disappointed.

I paired with energy cb-5's and it sounds great. I use as a mobile music machine on a cart. Nothing sounds better! Buy one, you will not be disappointed! Love it!!
