I compared this kit to others in the same price range and think it gave me the best of what I wanted. I like the High Hat stand rather than a mounted one to the rack which limits placement and the feel of an acoustic set up. I like the 3 Zone Cymbals which give a better feel of actual cymbals and you can play the bell which was important to me. Kick pad is nice looking, sturdy and sounds great. I don't like just a trigger mounted to the rack like some kits have, This again is because I was looking for the acoustic feel I am used to. The snare having the 3 zones is a plus and adds versatility to my playing. Pads are responsive and sound really good. The rack is not huge but is solid and easy to assemble. Kit is well packed and directions are clear and easy to understand. The module is packed with lots of great features and the entire kit is just a lot of fun. I have always had acoustic drums and I am a Zildjian or nothing cymbal snob but I am sold on this kit and like playing it a lot. The only reason for the 4 stars is because the photo shows a kick pedal which leads people to think it is included. Not everyone reads the whole disclaimer or product description! Also be aware that some sets are shipped without a power supply for the module and this is because they are shipped all over the world. Mine had the adapter in with the module which is packed in with the rack. Ask the sales person about this to be sure you get one. Use a decent set of headphones and I think you will agree this kit Rocks!

I have been playing drums for over 50 years. In the past 7 years, I have owned 2 Roland & 1 Alesis kit. The Yamaha blows both brands right out of the water. First of all,Yamaha makes great acoustic drums, and they have all of those great sounding kits in their electronic drums. Then, you have a real feel Hi-Hat. Plus, the feel of the drum pads and the small foot print of the whole kit....it is by far, the best kit out there in its price range. I am already thnking of upgrading...if this kit is so good, I can only imagine what the flagship DTX-950k must be like

Did a lot of reading about electronic drum gear. Chose the DTX 532k overall. Pedals and pads feel good but just upgraded to all XP80 pads. They have a better feel and stick response. Needed to increase volume levels of cymbals and added my free cymbal through the KP65. Good thing all this is in the manual. I've now had this unit about 3 months now and just love it. I have added a rack mount monitor and have a floor monitor as well. Never had a drum set before but pushing 60.... why not?

Love the real pedals, pads feel good. sound is awesome. I can not get the cymbal loud enough for my liking, may be not knowing the settings well enough yet. My package came with an extra cymbal, it is unclear how to add this since the 502 control panel is full, I assume get a 2nd control panel, will call support when needed. Love the product.
