My go-to set.

I have had a pair of these for quite a while. I lost the first pair and liked them so much that I bought another. Sound is always a subjective thing, but these are perfect for my ears and my music. I listen to a lot of classic rock, jazz, and classical and these reproduce this music with no problems. You do have to fit them in your ear just right or the bass escapes. I have about 5 or so pairs of whatever I happen to buy on a whim, but these are my serious pair.

Good product but needs a little work.

The high-mids are strong in the drivers. Between 1k & 3k are abnormally high for consumer buds. Perhaps it is just my ear, but as a student of audio, these buds seem to carry a strong presence in the high-mid range. The product, overall, is very well built for the money you pay, but they need a little more work in the frequency response. As stated, the high-mids have a little too much overall presence. The low, low-mid, and high ranges respond very well. The drivers provide a solid volume and the ear piece themselves provide a good seal. Overall, Yamaha has provided a very well built product, it just needs a little more work.
