I bought these to replace the 7 inch speakers in my home studio set up. They have given me a big improvement and sound quality. It is much richer much fuller? I use it for my Yamaha montage M8X and to playback tracks that I've recorded in Logic. I play along with these on my guitar as I said it's a big improvement.

I love the quality of sound on Genos 2, as I use it for a small room 5mX4m.

Starts off like opening up a never used music box from 300 years ago in perfect preservation. Tone is extremely precise with even the slightest adjustment altering the cast and dimension of the soundstage. Some use may reduce optimal volume but not quality.

I bought the HS8 and subwoofer to replace other reference monitors. I was hoping for greater sonic accuracy while mixing songs. The HS8 series speakers delivered superbly!

Have been around Yamaha monitors for decades, when it came to setup a small desktop studio I tried other small monitors, conclusion nothing came near my HS5's in any aspect.

I really like these monitors. They are quite a big step up from my Eris E5's. Especially in the lower end. Now there are much better monitor systems out there, but those will cost a lot more and the HS8's are very nice to work with.

It's time to experience the pinnacle of sound purity with the HS7I 2-Way Active Bass-Reflex Bi-Amped Powered Studio Monitor. Crafted with the legacy of Yamaha's iconic white woofer, this monitor is the embodiment of an industry standard that has been revered since the 1970s for its unparalleled accuracy. The HS Series is meticulously designed to deliver the most honest and precise reference, creating an ideal sonic foundation for the mixing process.
The HS7I is a testament to Yamaha's commitment to sound excellence, combining decades of expertise with cutting-edge sound technologies. Every element has been scrutinized and refined to contribute to the most trusted monitors in the business. With the addition of the new 6.5" model, the HS Series now caters to a broader range of recording environments without compromising its exceptional accuracy.
Yamaha's sound philosophy is uncompromising when it comes to accuracy. The HS Series continues the lineage of the legendary NS-10M, MSP, and previous HS models, all sharing a design philosophy that focuses on sonic purity without altering the original sound. Unlike other monitors that may be artificially enhanced to sound impressive, Yamaha studio monitors are engineered to deliver the truest mix by ensuring the sound from the speakers is faithful to the original.
The HS Series boasts newly developed transducers that provide a remarkably smooth response across a wide bandwidth. These transducers feature an advanced magnetic field design that ensures seamless, natural sonic transitions. Every component, from the materials to the design, has been optimized to significantly enhance the accuracy of signal reproduction throughout the audio spectrum.
The HS7I monitor includes a highly efficient 1" dome tweeter, designed to extend the usable frequency range and deliver high-resolution sound. The thick wave guide minimizes vibration, allowing the tweeter to produce a smooth, distortion-free high end up to 30 kHz. The ultra-responsive woofers are crafted with large magnets and are engineered to produce low distortion sound with a well-defined bottom end at any output level. The woofers' design, including the woofer ring and the basket, contribute to the monitor's impressive bass while ensuring clear, accurate mids.
Equipped with a high-performance amp unit, the HS Series speakers feature a bi-amp design with dedicated amps for both the woofer and the tweeter. This ensures consistent delivery of high-resolution sound with an exceptionally flat response across the sound spectrum.
The low resonance enclosure design of the HS Series cabinets is pivotal in eliminating unwanted resonance and increasing the accuracy of sound reproduction. Made from dense and resilient MDF with a damped acoustic response, these enclosures are ideal for reference monitors. Drawing on over a century of piano design experience, Yamaha engineers have applied a traditional three-way mitered-joint technique to anchor the corners of the enclosure firmly, enhancing durability and reducing unwanted resonance that can affect the overall sound.
Yamaha has integrated cutting-edge noise reduction technology to refine the speaker port design, which is crucial for the clarity of overall sound. This technology reduces audible noise by up to 6dB, allowing the HS Series studio monitors to meet the stringent demands of professional production environments.
The HS7I monitors also feature comprehensive controls and connectivity options. The ROOM CONTROL function allows for attenuation of exaggerated low-end frequencies, while the HIGH TRIM offers flexible control of the high-frequency response. The monitors can accommodate a variety of balanced and unbalanced sources, including mixers, keyboards, and audio interfaces, with XLR and TRS phone jacks.
Whether you're setting up a small desktop studio or looking to upgrade your current monitoring system, the HS7I 2-Way Active Bass-Reflex Bi-Amped Powered Studio Monitor is a high-quality, professional, durable, powerful, and reliable choice that delivers a superior listening experience, ensuring that your mixes sound good on any system.
