Very well made
Bought this used sans speakers so I have no idea what they sound like but it's proved a solid performer with my Wharfedale bookshelves (CRS-3). The 'swiss army knife' of inputs all work very well - can't find my iPod so I can't comment on that, also haven't tried the aux input yet. Tone (bass/mid/treble or 'EQ') and balance control is effective and useful. The only downside I've found is the signal from the headphone jack requires EQ and volume up adjustments to be useful - could be stressed from the previous owner? Aesthetically pleasing with a solid build quality. If you're into old-school, I'd recommend this unit if you can find one.

Speakers distort at Medium to High Volume! Disappointed
Great product if you do NOT turn the volume up high. Distortion occurs!! Sad

perfect for my situation
Primary reason we bought this was size, it is for a boat with a specific location in mind and the speakers needed to fit and be the same height as the receiver, it fit pervectly and sounds great. We have it connected to our flat screen tv and the ouput to all the speakers in the boat thru a selector box so when listening to music every cabin has sound but while watching tv only that cabin has sound. The only negative (and for some it could be a positive) we leave the base or low equalizer set to zero so we don't over power the room great unit everything works as advertised love the bluetooth for when we cannot pick up radio signals or guests have favorite playlists.

Style with full sound
Took a while for me to find an ipod player that delivered sound and also charged the ipod or iPhone. With great radio reception and cd player to boot. Very happy with this sound system.

OK receiver weak speakers
The speakers are under powered. So I bought Polk Audio Bookshelf speakers, Which improved the sound. The receiver is small and can fit in bookshelves. Now looking at upgrading to very better speakers if receiver can handle them. So if you have a tiny space by the unit and replace the speakers.

Great sound, compact, good looking
I think it sounds great and looks like a real audio system compared to a lot of what is out there (which look like toys).

Very good product
The radio stations in my city are easy to listen very good reception. Bluetooth is perfect with my Ipod Classic and the Kokkia bluetooth transmitter. The CD player is perfect for my music library.

Before you buy a Bose Wave
We love the deep rich base sound when we listen to at low volume. We were considering buying a wave and compared the sound quality and huge price difference.

Bose replacement
Not quite as unobtrusive as the Bose III it replaced, but more natural bass (no exaggerated boominess) and cleaner highs.
My main problem with the unit is that it won't play some of the MP3 CDs I've burned. However, the USB facility more than makes up for this.

Fabulous at what its meant to be!
What a great big sound from such a small box!
FM has strong draw of stations
Using WIFi to tune Pandora Internet radio, then streaming via Bluetooth to the Yamaha ... easy with insignificant loss of signal.
Best bang for the buck unless you're willing to spend 50% to 100% more!

well worth it
I had been looking at this radio, or it's predecessor to be precise, for some time. I found that it was too deep for my kitchen counter that I wanted to use as it's home so though I came close, I never bought it.
So when this updated version appeared with shallower depth and bluetooth, I was intrigued. There is no doubting the versatility of this unit with CD, radio, iPod and Bluetooth capabilities. Matching the colour to my kitchen really makes a nice difference - it looks as if it belongs and there are no other radios that come in so many colours.
The sound quality is good, not exceptional but pleasing for sure. I am an audio professional and don't rely on this as a main source of music, but it's a nice piece to own.
It's solidly made and my advice is to get a colour that compliments your decor. It's not often you are given the choice so it's wise to take advantage of this feature when you are.
