I use these on a desk with my Macbook via Bluetooth. They are my primary laptop speakers, as the laptop's built in speakers leave a lot to be desired. So this was a huge step up. I have used other computer speakers in the past from reputable brands, but most of them just don't seem to have the same shine as these Yamaha's do, especially at louder volumes. The power stand by mode works flawlessly. Soon after my laptop powers off, so do the speakers. When my laptop boots up, and the speakers which are in standby receives the Bluetooth signal from my laptop, they power up. This way I never have to manually turn them off. Very convenient. There is only one slight negative, although it's subjective, there's just a tad of boominess at the low end which can muddy some vocals. But all together, I am extremely happy with these speakers.

Very Pleased

I purchased these for the Bluetooth feature, however, I discovered it does not work near my LAN equipment, even though it is within range. Voices are nearly drowned out by music and have a strange "hollow" sound.

OK for my uses

For the price, these are great speakers for a desktop computer.
