This is my second one. I have one I use at home and I bought this one to use at Church. I love this keyboard. It is well constructed. I love the sound and there are some great sounds on this one. The rhythms are fantastic. It is easy to use if you are a Yamah fan like I am, I have had Yanah keyboards for years.

The Yamaha PSR-EW524 is a versatile and user-friendly keyboard with excellent sound quality and a wide range of voices. Its 76-key bed offers more flexibility for playing complex pieces, while the built-in learning features make it an ideal choice for beginners. The intuitive interface and connectivity options, such as USB to Host, enhance the overall experience. With its sturdy build, portability, and diverse sound selection, it's a great option for musicians at any skill level.

I'm starting to play after taking 50 years! I wanted something simple, sounded great, and a few other options! This has 800 different sound effects! Not that I'll play them all, but it is fun switching from a grand piano, to a honky tonk piano, to a church organ and on and on. I checked out other brands but I've always trusted Yamaha so I went straight to our local music stores and walked out with one! Can't wait to retire (less than a year away) so I can spend hours each day playing.

2 functions I am not happy with........... 1. It takes too long for the voice to change after punch in selection. 2. Output sound is not as clear and doesn't have the "punch" as my old DGX 500. IS THIS NORMAL?

Full featured keyboard for older beginner's and hobiests. 76 Keys is more than enough to play most songs. Lots of features and voices to keep you entertained for years. For home use, I don't see ever outgrowing this keyboard. Highly recommended

Recently purchased a 425 as an upgrade to my trusty, but old PSR-32. For the asking price, the 425 offers quite a bit packed into its clean looking case. I haven't used much of the processing features as my use case is more "plug & play". The sound samples are vastly improved over my old PSR-32. Most frequently used are (055) Pipe Organ, (001 & 002) Grand Pianos and various strings. To be sure, this is unit is a lower tier than say the Genos 2. The unit weighs about 18 lbs. and has an assortment of ways to connect it to external sound processing equipment. Due to limited space for the body of the review, I'll simply say that the 425 is worth considering when looking for an instrument in its price range. The PSR-EW320 is essentially the same unit minus some of the sound samples and processing capabilities at a lower cost.

I was pleasantly surprised with the functionality of the PSR-EW425. It checked all the boxes that I needed. It can run on batteries, it is light weight, the built in speakers sound good with a good volume, and the piano sounds are excellent as all Yamaha keyboards seem to be. The arranger part of this keyboard gets my creative juices going and all this for a reasonable price.

First, the samples are awesome and the programmed capabilities are great. That being said, the price is what I considered a beginning midrange keyboard where normally one can expect a jump in better manufacturing and quality. I did not see this over many of the old Yamaha YPG keyboards at half the price. The on off switch is frankly terrible and a little intermittent. It needs a more sturdy component. The volume know is cheap and thin plastic. Again spend an extra quarter and beef it up thicker and with a rubberized coating like higher end models, again a cheap manufacturing fix. Now the keyboard itself: It just feels cheap. The keys a not weighted and the travel is much to easy. Again, earlier Yamaha YPG series keyboards at half the price had a far superior keyboard. The user interface and intuitiveness is ok, but could use some human factors improvement. Never have a user have to do two separate moves when it could be done with one. One example. Cut out the Shift/Dual/Select voice/Dual operation for a Dual voice when you could have a Dual/Select Voice operation. No need for a Shift other than to reduce a few buttons in manufacturing. The pitch bend wheel has wider gaps between the wheel and base to collect more dust internally than other competitors such as the KORG brands. Also I don't understand why they would bevel the slope going toward the center of the PITCH wheel in the event something was spilled or even just dust would go down to the wheel mechanism over time. It should be flat with the internal wheel raised proportionately to compensate for the rise. Again look at KORG models. I have been a big fan of Yamaha in the past and due to the unavailability of this unit locally prior to purchase, I had to rely heavily on many reviews. Learned my lesson. Be patient and put your hands on a new unit before you buy it. Collectively at the manufacturing level, they could have spent an extra $15 and yielded a much better product or drop the price $100.

That's a great product compared to my old Roland E66. The technology has been much different since that time. I used the piano much of the time, so I 'd appreciate with 76 keys. Also like to explore the keyboard's features, that was so impressed and powerful, that I need more time to explorer. Overall it's been an excellent product for a beginner, except some unexpected sound when you change some features on the keyboard.

The PSR-EW425 gives me the scope to achieve the satisfaction and level of achievement that I have always hoped for. The keyboard provides a rich and professional sound so close to performances of the actual instruments in bands and orchestras. There is no compromise in striving to achieve a great result, and gives the satisfaction with enjoyment as I develop my playing skills.

For the price it's unbeatable. 10? years ago I had PSR E433 and this is a huge upgrade in sound quality and features. Love the microphone input, having 76 keys, the action is mostly OK, esp at this price. Really don't like Pianos 1 n 2, they are overly bright when you hit the loud sample, typical of cheaper Yamaha digital pianos (I have the exquisite Kawai ES920, 3 times the price and twice as heavy). Surprised though at how decent most of the sounds are, you could use this board in a band if you didn't have much of a budget, and the pianos would cut thru the mix! Because I'm mostly a piano guy, the action and piano sounds are subpar, but overall it's serviceable for a rehearsal, playing in the park or jamming at a party- it's so lightweight, has loud speakers and has 76 keys! Keyboard technology has come so far, now you can get a medium quality board for what used to be entry level prices. It's cool they added the Groove Creator, a variation of auto accompaniment for EDM styles. But combined with the regular Styles auto-accom, it makes setting up Registrations impossible. > First off I like to create Registrations so that I have dialed in the best combo of basic pianos/e-pianos/organs/etc.. In the heat of the moment this is crucial! > I was forced to create Registrations for just sounds, and then ones for just Styles or Groove Creator, otherwise the settings get jumbled, a big mess of parameters that don't stay put. > With only 32 Registrations onboard, this just gets stupid. They've included so much with this board, I believe Yamaha put in some obvious restrictions so you'd look longingly at their pricier arrangers. While the layout is generous with buttons/controls, I do wish they'd included just a few more dedicated buttons around the jog wheel for +/-/Enter/Exit. These are used all the time and it gets confusing doubling up buttons that are often used for other purposes. > DSP 1 needs its own on/off button!

I use this KB as a one man band. Works great. In a gigging situation, it would be helpful to be able to have layer in the LH and RH. Also would be helpful to be able to assing sustain to LH on split.

I'm still in the discovery phase. This keyboard is capable of some may sounds and styles, plus, I can create my own. This model (PSR EW425) and its little sister the PSR E473 are so popular, that there are lots of tutorials available on Youtube for learning how to get the most out of it... from unboxing to advanced programming and recording. The acoustic piano samples are VERY true-to-life and the built-in speakers project the sound beautifully. It's a joy to play and listen to. If you're accustomed to weighted keys, there will be some level of adjustment, but once you get used to the action, you'll be very happy with this keyboard and all of the extraordinary features you'll get for the money.

I play often in a duo live performances. There are more features than I actually need . I have 2 DGX Grand that are more than fifteen years old and have never had a problem with either of them, of all the keyboards I've had over the years I prefer the Yamaha .

I would recommend this keyboard to interested people. I would not recommend the Yamaha dust cover - doesn't fit with the music stand. Please work on more stylish products. Lots of Black. ???????????????????? ????????????

Mainly used at home for self-entertainment. For the price and quality, this is one amazing, fun keyboard! Note to Yamaha...in the next version of this keyboard, please eliminate the Super Articulation button and just include the articulated voices as standard S.A. voices that are found in all your mid and high-level keyboards. Thank you.

What sets the PSR-EW425 76-Key High-Level Portable Keyboard apart is its evolution in sound and performance. This keyboard, with its 76-key touch-sensitive design, builds upon the legacy of Yamaha's esteemed PSR series, offering you the power and performance to elevate your music to new heights.
The PSR-EW425 is renowned for its pro-quality sound, akin to that found in high-end models. It comes loaded with enhanced effects and a broad spectrum of Styles, ranging from the latest hits to global genres.
The keyboard expands on its predecessors with an increased internal storage capacity, allowing Yamaha to offer more high-resolution instrument Voices. With 820 realistic, expressive instrument sounds from around the globe, you can enjoy pro-level sound quality at your fingertips.
The PSR-EW425 is equipped with Super Articulation Lite, a feature that realistically simulates the unique ways each instrument is played. Choose from 290 automatic accompaniment Styles, including rock, dance, and jazz, as well as a wide range of musical genres from around the world.
The PSR-EW425 is one of the few models in the PSR-EW series to feature two channels for insertion effects. With the latest LSI tone generator, this instrument delivers high-quality effects previously exclusive to high-end models.
The keyboard is equipped with premium sound content designed specifically to enhance the appeal of the 76-key keyboard. The realistic organ sounds, created with samples from high-end Yamaha YC Series of stage keyboards, put the expressive range of the 76 keys at your disposal.
Yamaha has revamped the control panel and LCD, added Direct Category Access buttons, and phased out the numeric keypad. The optimized control panel makes it quick and easy to access Voices, Styles, and functions, allowing you to focus on creativity.
The two Live Control Knobs make it easy to manipulate and interact with the sound you produce as you play. The Motion Effect function lets you instantly add effects while you play, morphing the sound with a filter, creating pitch risers, adding tape stop effects & slices, or other new dynamic sound effects.
The PSR-EW425 comes equipped with left and right audio outputs that allow you to easily connect to PA systems and studio equipment. Connect a microphone and sing along with your playing while using built-in studio-quality vocal effects. Use the USB To Device port to record and play back audio files of your music from USB flash drives.
With the Rec'n'Share app, you can connect your instrument to a smart device, and then create and share audio and video recordings of you playing along with your favorite songs. Save your favorite Voice and control panel settings so that you can call them up in an instant with the touch of a button, even while playing.
The PSR-EW425 76-Key High-Level Portable Keyboard is not just an instrument; it's a complete musical experience that lets you express yourself like never before.
