personal opinion

The PSR S975 is a very nice keyboard! I have been playing keyboards for over 40 years, and bought this because l have found Yamaha to be amongst the best in features and durability. I have yet to have one simply "die" on me. I usually give an older keyboard away to someone wanting to learn music.

The great thing about this unit is that you do not have to be a professional musician to get great results! The huge rhythm bank and instrument sounds are only limited to your imagination. In fact, upon simply hearing a lot of the rhythms, many songs that you already know will come to mind.

I have owned this unit for a little over two years now, and feel I have yet to scratch the surface on what it is capable of. I needed a keyboard to expand my composing efforts and options, and this provides that very well. l play many genres of music, and a lot of them are nicely indexed by style, decade, or country of origin. 

If there is anything that could be improved upon, it is the built-in speaker. As a stand-alone, it is not a complement to the rich instrument sounds the unit hosts. But I'm sure Yamaha knows this, so be prepared to spend another $700+ if you plan to really maximize its sound quality, or wish to perform in public.

I would by this product again

Give us at least 2 assignable outputs and a row of assignable buttons on top-left of keys bed. Add bluetooth for wireless headphones. Add ability to read styles directly from a connected laptop.

It needs assignable outputs and more assignable buttons.

1. Even though it is a fantastic sounding instrument. It doesn't have a good keybed and key action is pretty bad. I have seen nice keybed in low end E-Series keyboard (the same keyboard I have found in Yamaha MOXF6 as well).
2. Yamaha PSR-S Series looks really boxy and it doesn't have good aesthetics and it doesn't look good from the audience's point of view (Please reduce).
3. Please give us a 76 keybed option without speaker with external speaker as an option.
4. Touch screen interface with atleast 4 assignable faders and 4 knobs and midi integration.
5. Please use Metal such as Aluminium in the top of the keyboard at least it will make people think it is a good quality keyboard.
