Sounds, styles, and features are above my expectations. It truly can sound like a band or even an orchestra. It has more content than I will ever use. Two slight negatives - the keys are so slick that may have to find a way to rough them up a little; and, the manual and online resources are a bit muddled and hard to grasp.

My second yamaha board, used the PSR S series but was longing to see what the SX series has brought in, the sx series is more than enough for an expert player if i can say. now owns the sx 900, for more than an year and it is wonderful, i truly enjoy playing. I use some additional voices from tyros that plays well in this board.

Yamaha SX900 perfect in all means for a pianist or keyboardist... Good arranger keyboard, Best for even music production.. I think no need of a midi keyboard in secondary.....Yamaha has set a perfect product. Thankyou Yamaha

Beautiful instrument, huge potential, a lot of possibilities. The only thing I would suggest is to provide owners of SX900 with opportunities to upgrade this model up to SX920 by a firmware. This potential firmware upgrade can be purchased for a reasonable price. In this case both sides, owners of SX900 and Yamaha, would be in a win situation because Yamaha would get additional profits from existing owners of SX900 and existing owners of SX900 would get much more possibilities from their existing SX900 by buying the firmware upgrade to SX920 level. Otherwise Yamaha will get nothing from existing owners of SX900 because it is not practical for owners of SX900 to sell their SX900 to buy SX920 since potential buyers of pre-owned SX900 unlikely will buy SX900 for the good price because there's no reason to pay for pre-owned SX900 good money if SX920 is available for the same or almost the same price. So, on the one hand, Yamaha will just loose potential profits and on the other hand owners of SX900 will remain upset and disappointed without possibility to upgrade their existing SX900 up to SX920. In this case no one will win. Why not to get additional profits and at the same time make your customers happy?

YAMAHA is a great name in everything the produce. I believe it's a great product. I wish we had better guidelines 'How to tune different instruments" with in the KB which would have helped Novice like me.

Very nice system that can really help someone to be very creative. Cuurently my only problem is the volume difference between the styles/harmony and the voices. There is no way I can find after much research in adjusting these levels. Most of the time the styles part is way too loud masking the voice part. I'll continue to try and resolve but no help so far from anyone.

Well, I've owned everything in the past (and still keep a couple of them) from my beginner PSR E-series to the PSR I-series and my 88-key DGX-670, and was contemplating getting this PSRSX900 for a very long time, until I finally made the decision I'll never regret, the only regret is why did I wait for so long!!! Won't comment on the sound quality since it's of course the best being YAMAHA, but features from memory capacity to versatility is truly commendable! It's indeed the only keyboard arranger semi professional workstation you'll ever need! Indeed my all in one, and will make you a professional musician in no time!! This keyboard is the most amazing one I've owned. I've had several keyboards from Yamaha and other companies. And this particular model seems to be the pinnacle of what it can be not disappointed in one feature. And it truly delivers a professional quality sound. I would not hesitate to buy one as fast as you can get your hands on one.

The SX 900 is a long way from what I expected. It is extremely difficult to play. The manual stinks on ice. While some of the "styles" are nice most are radically stupid. I cannot get a decent trumpet sound. The background ALWAYS overpowers the lead instrument. My wife has a DGX 660 which is far superior in many ways at a fraction of the cost. Sorry I bought this thing.

I have been using Yamaha PSR keyboards since the early 2000s and the sequences have pretty much been an upgrade to the previous sequence however the SX 900 is not an upgrade from the S775 - 975 this is a totally different keyboard and it is clearly not versatile enough. I went through the whole keyboard and still did not find the beat/styles that I was looking for which is the first time this has ever happened in my PSR experience. Also there is a whistling sound that is printed on your recording when recording midi. I consider that totally unacceptable.

I'm very happy of this keyboard PSR SX 900 even though I like the Genos more (but too expensive for me). But SX900 has everything what I want for live performance and creating music; multi track midi backing track and creating my own style. There is nothing more that I can say, this keyboard is awesome. And I'm a yamaha user.

I bought this keyboard to jam with my son who is a saxophone player and let me tell you we are impressed, Yamaha is the best sounding arranger keyboard out there. I only wish that this keyboard would have manual control sliders like Genos .
