I use this product to watch tv, movies and stream music. It was very easy to use and a huge upgrade for my RXV2400.

I use this receiver as my central hub for my entertainment center. I love and hate all the available settings on this receiver. I downloaded the new firmware update. Ran the setup app then ran the set with the microphone that uses 8 points of measurement. With the default settings you will find this receiver seems o be way underpowered. This is because all the settings are set way low by default. After a lot of tweeking adjusting all the relevant settings I am completely satisfied with the sound output and quality of this receiver. I suggest making micro changes and write notes of what you changed. It's like steering a ship small changes can make a large difference which may not be noticed right away. My RX A 1050 really comes to life when playing a movie recorded with DTS X MA I do not own super high end speakers but even with my Megar setup all of them at 8 ohm This receiver will shake the pictures off my walls if I wanted it to. Yet I have a crazy subwoofer setup that uses my old receiver to power up 4 12inch car audio subwoofers and my surround speakers are large towers with subs also My setup gives me solid crisp earth shaking bass when needed yet is set where I can clearly hear every note played and no longer have to struggle to hear the dialogue. The down side is this receiver is jam packed with so many features is could be a full time job for a long time to really understand all of its capabilities. I feel by the time I learn all the features the receiver will be out of date.

This is perfect Reciever,reasontly i upgrade from my onkyo TX-NR 616 and Denon AVR 2312 recivers.i was connected those with PSB IMAGE T6 Tower speakers,but i couldnt get the real effect from those ,but when i connect Yamaha 1050,amazing.Deep base and huge punch,And vocal also awesome.wifi setup working fine and internet radio as well work.And sound quality real naturality of sound i experienced through yamaha,i purchased RXA 850 by using net reviews and rewards,but after few days i felt its entry level recier AND DOESN,T SUPPORT TO DTS X.And 1050 can handle that tower speakers and run smoothly.i recomonded this reciver to everyone.

power, precision and jam packed with features. whether used as pass thru for 4k,3d, or blue ray movies this unit delivers in spades. amazing for theatre, but just wait to crank up some tunes. 7 channel stereo setting on rock and roll with higher end speakers can go as loud as a jet taking off before i back the volume down from rattling my dishes. clear,clean,and natural with remarkable presence and definition in soundstage. preamp for my dual/ortofon turntable is a sweet addition. pure direct stereo on my b&w towers has to be heard to be believed. aja by steely dan, abbey road, your favorite albums will amaze you with new sonic detail. recommend wiring speakers with pure copper 12ga farther runs, 14ga up to closer speakers, if you can 12ga or better for all. trouble free delight. The RX-A1050 is a great receiver! I have it paired with my 1998 Klipsch Synergy speakers anchored by the KSP-400 powered towers. And let me tell you, these speakers are finally stretching their legs! The 1050's menus are intuitive and easy to get around in. The parametric EQ is head and shoulders above the competition. The ability and flexibility you have to tweak the frequency curves is amazing. You can tighten up the individual curves for punch or spread them out for a more diffused sound using the Q factor. You can adjust levels and you can drag curves left and right...didn't I already say amazing? I started with the YPAO multi-point calibration, using it's EQ settings as a reference, then tweaked it to my liking. It saved my manual set-up in the same list as the YPAO flat, front, and natural set-ups so I can compare and contrast. Music has never sounded so good! I've had Sony ES and I recently tried the newer Onkyo TX-RZ800 (a collaborative effort with Pioneer) and the Yamaha bests them all in my opinion. Movie sound fields are stellar too. Just the right amount of sub and center, with the rears crystal clear. I also have a RX-V673 which has worked flawlessly since new...I just felt the urge to upgrade for more power. The 673 found it's way to my kid's game room once I unboxed the 1050. Yamaha's Adventage warranty is hard to beat as well. I've been a fan of Yamaha since college when I purchased a pair of NS-10T speakers for my dorm room. I can still remember the natural sound from those little gems and that was 29 years ago! I don't see my allegiance changing any time soon. Thanks Yamaha...stay the course!

I've had Sony, Pioneer, Marantz and this is my first Yamaha and I'm completely satisfied with it's performance, looks, features, ease of setup the whole nine yards. Great product to own. Overall very happy with Yamaha!

I have owed two Sony's and one Harmond Kardon. I wish I would have saved my money and started with Yamaha. Hands down the best I have ever had. The quality of the sound is amazing. You won't be disappointed in this amp!!

Replaced a 10 year old Marantz unit that still works great. I wanted Bluetooth music, more HDMI inputs andWiFi. This unit has great power and sound. Produces better sound than old receiver. We hear sounds in existing DVD's we did not before.

Was previously a Denon fan. But sales rep recommended this unit and gave me a great deal. Great sound with plenty of power for my 6.1 B&W speaker setup. Quick and easy setup instructions. The YPAO system worked well, only needing a couple of tries to get it right. Liked the ability to go back and adjust the sound parameters for the speakers after the auto setup. Also glad it includes a phono input! And the on screen picture of my Yamaha piano was a pleasant surprise. Only complaint is I would have liked a backlight on the remote or an on screen option for all the remote buttons. The receiver is heavy and deep so needs a good shelf to support it. Lack of a printed manual is not a real problem as I downloaded it on my tablet and PC. Unfortunately the Yamaha remote app for my 5c iPhone does not work for some reason. Overall very happy with the Yamaha.

Set up a Dolb Atmos / DTS:X set up. This unit replaced my Denon AVR-791. What a huge upgrade. I was never fond of my Denon. The power on this Yamaha is far better. Cleaner, more dynamic and much for umph. The YPAO did a decent job with my hard room. I have a NAD and a Parasound amp and I have not felt the need to run one of them yet as the Yamaha does a fine job. This is my first Yamaha receiver and I'm very happy with it. I have used Pioneer Elite, Sony, Denon, Adcom, Fosgate, Carver and Marantz and this is by far my favorite all around piece. My only complaint is the cheapo remote. A back light would have been a huge plus and maybe a little bit more substance.

I have always preferred European amplifiers such as NAD, but this Yamaha has now caught up. Very clear sound, delivered effortlessly. First home theatre, easy set up all via a single HDMI lead to the TV. Took return audio from TV apps a bit to work out, but the ARC works well without the need of an additional lead. Both TV and music audio are superb, driving my B & W speakers. Great app for the Ipad to control media system. Would have liked a hard copy manual but using an Ipad helps. Fully recommend it!

It's everything I was looking for in a suround receiver. The not so great is, you have to be extra careful to shut off your receiver and subwoofer when plugging or unplugging the RCA cable,extremely high chance of blowing the Subwoffer output jacks on the receiver.

Lots of power. Initially I could not connect Wifi, played around with the settings and it finally connected when I selected "mixed" for the signal type. What I love most is the "net" feature which allows the receiver to see my computer music library (I use windows media player) where most of my music resides... it's such a sweet feature, no need to mess with CDs anymore.

I upgraded from an older Yamaha RXV673, which I loved. I wanted the HDCP 2.2 capability of the RXA1050. I was pleasantly surprised by the difference in sound quality. The metadata for SiriusXm has also improved. I plan to add Musicast and Dolby Atmos to my system in the near future.

Replaced a 12 year old RX-V2500, and just came to learn what I'd been missing. Other than fantastic build quality, easy setup and configuration, the multipoint YPAO, the iPhone app , simple and effective customization of settings, the sound quality a another leap ahead. Very impressed, I hope this lasts a decode or more. Unit drives my 7.1 M&K 4-ohm setup just great. Receiver barely gets warm after hours of reference level movie watching.-ohm setup just great. This is my second Yamaha, replacing an RX-v3800. It is the center piece of my A/V system. Installation was seamless and calibration worked well. Some "tinkering" will be needed as the sound is not as "deep" or "rich" as I would like from my Paradigm speakers. The Yamaha app is much faster than Denon's. Unit is nicely finished and runs cooler than the v3800, although a bit larger.
