I purchased the Yamaha RX-a3060 A/V receiver back in July 2016. The performance of this unit has been described in one word: Astounding! Especially in Home Theater use. I have the 3060 pair with Klipsch surround sound speaker system, which includes: RF-7 series III as well as the matching center, and rear speakers too! My two subwoofer's are the sevo 15 v1 from Paradigm So far the receiver has performed like a champ, and hasn't broke'en sweat yet.Watching movies is like a being in my own movie theater that was tailored for me. I'm very pleased with my purchase, and would keep buying Yamaha. A+++++++!

this A/V receiver is an absolute monster...producing clean as sound you can ask for. Very easy to operate as well. Highly recommended if you can still find it.

Very happy with this receiver. A bit pricey, but it definitely sounds better than the $ Onkyo it replaced

When listening to my recently purchased a RX A3060 receiver, I'm experiencing sound quality problems with my center speaker with TV programs. Specifically, voices sound tinny and raspy (sibalance issues). The wiring is per Yamaha setup chart using new hi def HDMI cables and the ARC connections.

Let me start by saying this: I am the top Yamaha prophet since my DSP E300 in around 1990. I've upgraded to a DSP 3090, a DSP A1, an Aventage 2030 and now an Aventage 3060. Starting with the 2030, every new model deletes features that the high end, sophisticated system user needs or becomes accustomed to. When I went from a DSP A1 to my first Aventage, I lost a feature I have had a need of since the 1960's and that is a "tape loop" AKA to the professional as an "insert". That was a MAJOR loss !! I had big project to rig a system to keep my "loop" but with vastly reduced function. They did however feature HD FM radio and that was SUPER ! I got so used to it and used it all the time. My new Aventage 3060 ? DELETED !!!! No HD FM ! What is that ? So now, in order to get back my HD FM I will have to use my old Aventage 2030 as a tuner. Insane. Also deleted in the new model NO A/V OUT !!!!! I had to buy an "HDMI audio extractor" so I have the ability to record the audio buss. Like if I want to record a record. So, who buys a high end Yamaha Aventage ? It would have to be a person of means as it is costly. It would have to be a person who has a home suitable for the huge setup it entails. This usually would mean a person who is a SERIOUS audiophile type. However, all the legacy features as serious "mature" aged type needs, are systematically being omitted. The full blown mega home audio/video system is already facing the possibility of extinction from tablets screens and ear buds as a person's A/V system. It appears that Yamaha will help that along by alienating those top end people who were formally their best asset. As far as "would I recommend this to a friend" I say yes but with this caveat: if you want to only watch videos and only listen to all manner of digital media, then yes, it is incredible. For me, a 27 year Yamaha prophet, next time I will be looking at other brands to see if I can regain features I need, that have been deleted one by one over the years.

I have previously exclusively used Pioneer Receivers. My last two Pioneers were nothing but problems. So far my Yamaha has been great! The Android app is far superior to the Pioneer one. Setup was fast and easy. The intelligent amp channel switching was a great surprise. It allows me to use two amp channels for back surround and zone 2 and it switches automatically. I'm still trying to fully understand the various surround modes.

I have been a Yamaha fan for a long time. I've owned 4 Yamaha receivers, including this one, over the past 40 years. I just upgrade from an RX V2090 that I've owned for 20 years. I run Magnaplaner MG 3.5 speakers for my main front speakers with a Rotel 200 wpc amp that is connected from the pre-out of the Yamaha. I swear that the sound sounds a lot more tighter and even my sub-woofer sounds punchier! Yamaha does slouch a great job with their high end receivers, I always recommend them to people I know!

This receiver is used in our home entertainment system. It is a quantum leap from our old receiver. It provides excellent video and sound with numerous genres to choose from. We'll be upgrading the sound system with a pair of Bowers & Wilkens CM10 S2 speakers.

The RX-A2060 was a warranty replacement for a failed RX-A2050 (which I purchased in October 2015). Contact with Yahama, throughout the process of replacing the failed unit, was time consuming, and could have been a very frustrating experience, but for the care and understanding of the Yahama customer service department. They were nothing short of outstanding. The knowledge and determination, by these representatives, in solving my problem, speaks well of the Yahama Corporation. As for the RX-A2060 replacement, it is all that one could expect of a fine A/V receiver. The RX-A2050, which this replaced, had all the features required by me. I replaced my 12 year old projection TV, last year, with a 4K TV. I then installed 4 overhead speakers, in anticipation of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, and wanted to upgrade my receiver, making it as future proof as possible. The RX-A2050 was great, but the RX-A2060 is greater. A few examples are: Dolby Atmos/DTS-X/HDR BT.2020 pass-through out of the box, new HD GUI interface, recognition of a second Sub, and YPAO setting for 8 listening positions. Would not hesitate to recommend this fine A/V receiver to anybody.

This is an amazing receiver that does everything well, sadly with the exception of an Audio Return Channel (ARC) issue. If you plan to use a Smart TV (e.g. LG OLED with webOS 3.0) to stream (e.g. Netflix, etc.) using HDMI (ARC) to direct the sound from the TV to the AVR "in Dolby Digital (DD)", Yamaha receivers (across their line) will have intermediate sound dropouts. These are .5 to 1 second dropouts, which occur more frequently in some programs than others, and always occur on the same musical or voice note/track (i.e. can be replicated over and over). Unfortunately these audio sound dropouts completely ruin an experience such as "watching DareDevil in Dolby Vision on an LG OLED". The sound dropouts do not occur if the TV is set to Pulse Code Modulation (PCM), but then of course you lose the dedicated surround sound, so that drastically takes away from the user experience. I have tested DD over (ARC) on both Sony and Marantz AVRs and there is no issue. I have also tested this on several other Yamaha models and replicated the issue without fail on those as well, so this specifically is a "Yamaha AVR" issue. I have tried numerous times to address this directly with Yamaha and they state "this is not a known issue", so as the new models have released RX-A2040; 50; 60; and so on, the issue continues. I can no longer recommend Yamaha AVRs for this ever so popular growing use case.

I use this for Home Theater and Quality Hi-Fi - very capable of driving low impedance speakers at high levels. I upgraded from a 3 year old Aventage Receiver that is now in the living room. I don't like the 3060's cheapy remote control - the 3 year old one with my previous system is a lot better made and the buttons aren't as cramped as the new one. All the other features of the new Receiver are superior with the ability to support Dolby Atmos.

I just replaced a 5-year old 7.2 Onkyo with this Yamaha after having some frustrations with the Onkyo and so much luck with a mid-90's model Yamaha that I eventually retired to my garage that was always reliable and had great pre-AC3 surround. I'm running Def Tech speakers in a 9.2 config currently, with an Adcom power amp on standby, waiting for 2 more speakers for 11.2. This Yamaha has everything and more. It took a bit, and a surprise tip from a Yamaha email to get MultiCast sending audio to bluetooth speakers and headphones around the house. The phone remote app is nice, straightforward, and easy to use. It's even possible to access the firmware through the browser and use it as another remote. With a 4K Sony Android TV, Dolby Atmos, and several sources for blueray and streaming, I get a bit lost at times making sure all the settings on all the inputs are correct for realizing the full potential. Fortunately, the technology intrigues me and I'm not afraid to dig in and tweak the numerous settings. For those that wouldn't care to learn the settings and make the necessary adjustments, I imagine they won't get as much out of this as it's capable of. I debated between an equivalent Marantz before I just decided that this receiver comes out of the box with the most options available for the money. I have no regrets. Visual and audio clarity are noticeably upgraded immediately after installation. The more I learn about bitstream, netflix 4k settings, Atmos capable presets, etc., the more I realize this machine can do. Unfortunately, my Spotify account won't run on the machine. It requires Spotify premium. Running Spotify through my Android TV is a suitable workaround. There's really just so much to do with this machine.

I bought one last November for a game room. Was looking at several different receivers when I made the purchase. I have had great success with past Yamaha models Like the great A1. Having been let down by Onkyo and Denon recently I started to consider some other brands as well like the Marantz and Sony. Thinking I would give the Yamaha 3060 a shoot in the game room and buy a different one for the main TV area. Have been so impressed with the Yamaha 3060 I bought another one. That pretty much says it all.

I converted to Yamaha after serious problems with the last two receivers I purchased. They both were from a different company. This receiver is superior in design and sound to anything I have owned in the past. The interface is great and it sounds fantastic through my Goldenear HTR set up. It is well worth the price. I read many five star reviews that other companies products were not receiving. The reviews are correct and I'm very satisfied with my purchase. You will feelvthecsame way when you buy yours!!

I wanted a unit that was top of the line and hope to use for years. I think I got it. Time will tell. Easy to setup and maneuver. The unit is a little deep for my cabinet so I had to cut a hole in the back to allow it to fit well enough.

This is my 3rd upgrade of Yamaha receivers. My last receiver was the RX-V3800. All the new upgrades for the RX-A3060 are fantastic. Airplay, musicCast, the app for other devices, oh, and the sound from nine speakers is awesome. Using the Yamaha MusicCast speaker (wireless) in another room, also great. Very happy with the new receiver. Now for my question. Maybe someone can help me with this. Sometimes I like to watch TV muted, with subtitles, while listening to my xm music channel. From my previous receiver, I was able to program the remote so this could be done. Is there a way for this to work with the new receiver?

About 6 months ago my 8yr old Yamaha AV was nearly done. After countless hours of researching receivers Yamaha was the way to go. Fortunately, I called Yamaha, in short he said the new RXA 3060 info just got release. It'll be on the market in a couple of months with some well worth waiting for upgrades. I'm so happy I waited. This thing is loaded with audio features. Using my iPad to control everything through the Yamaha app at night is awesome. You no longer have to turn on the lights to see what button to push on the remote. Since it's got the latest and greatest audio features, you'll be good with this A/V for at least 5yrs. Meanwhile, I decided to upgrade my whole sound system. With a 7.1.4 in a room size 13ft x 16ft I went with Golden Ear Technology, Sub, Center, & L & R Front. Orb Audio speakers for the Rear, Rear Surround & 4 in the ceiling Dolby Atmos. And Blue Jeans wires. I am totally blown away!! on how it turned out. My wife and I would go to the movies a lot. Not anymore!! We're so happy to watch movies at home now. It's worth the investment. The price of going to the movies, plus dinner, and some snacks adds up to more than you can imagine. We calculated, in the next 2 1/2 years, the home theater will easily pay for itself. Maybe shorter than that when you calculate taking the youngsters too. Thank you, Yamaha for producing incredible products!!

I upgraded my existing home theater system to 4K with the RX-A3060 at the heart of the system. Although I had originally planned to upgrade my speaker system as well, the audio from this receiver is so amazing, I have put that part of the upgrade on hold. The 11.2 capability provides great flexibility. I have set up a 7.1 theater with bi-amp on the front main channel. The sound is simply incredible; Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD MA come to life as you are immersed in the sound fields. Older Blurays in Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Digital sound fantastic as well. I've configured the remaining 2 channels for music in Zone 2 which can run independently and simultaneously with Zone 1. As expected, 4K content is stunning when played thru the RX-A3060 and the rendering of less than 4K content in 4K is excellent as well. Setup was easy and intuitive and the built in functionality of the unit exceeded my lofty expectations. Finally, the Yamaha "AV Controller" app allows full receiver control and streaming from any portable device. This is by far the best AV receiver I've ever owned and I would highly recommend this product!

I was a 2-channel purist for years, but this monster has converted me. Nothing is perfect, but Yamaha has come frighteningly close. No clipping, amazing soundfields, cool to the bucks facing, and features galore - this is as close to sonic nirvana as you can get for $2k.

Had for a few weeks now and have watched several movies. This by far is the greatest receiver that I have experienced. I replaced a less then 2 year old competitor with this and granted the cost was more but so are the features and the sound is amazing. I have set up with as a 11.2 with the addition of a amp for the front channels and the sound just fills the room. Dobly Atmos and DTS-X comes to life. Sound is better then most the theaters in the area as they don't have Atmos or X yet. Highly recommend this unit.

Superior A/V Receiver for both Movies and Music ? ? I have the YAMAHA 3060 for a little over a month and enjoying it . Before I made the purchase I downloaded the manual and read it a few times so when I received the unit set up was a breeze. The YPAO for room calibration takes only minutes. I currently only have a 5.1 speaker configuration and will now branch out o 5.1.2 or 5.1.4 for ATMOS and DTS-X. I am also using it as a Pre-Pro with a seperate 5 channel 500 watt per channel SUNFIRE SIGNATURE amp. But the internal YAMAHA amps are more than enough. Both music and movies are incredible sounding.. I am hearing more than I ever heard from any other receiver. Effects are breathtaking and dialogue is crisp and intelligent and you can also increase just the dialogue level if you wish and that works amazingly well for soundtracks where you need to raise the dialogue a bit. And for those who are skeptical with DSP's...try them ...you don't have to by choosing STRAIGHT MODE but try the DSP's also...you may be very surprised how well they work(my favorites are STANDARD,SCI-FI and ADVENTURE and DRAMA). Trust me this may be the A/V receiver to end all A/V receivers. It is future proof so you may not have to replace it for years.

After doing my usual thorough research I decided to buy the Yamaha RX-A3060BL. Upon taking it out of the box and familiarizing myself with the user manual I connected my components and speakers. It's an easy process given the rear of the receiver is well labeled as to where everything went. In order to enjoy the full 7.2.4 Dolby Atmos experience I also connected an external power amplifier to drive the rear presence speakers. Once everything was connected I used the setup menu to select the options for the 7.2.4 speaker configuration I had after which I followed the intuitive procedure to calibrate the system. Upon completing the calibration it was time to crank the system up. I was absolutely blown away by the amazing job the calibration process had achieved. It had done a phenomenal job of balancing and matching the speaker characteristics so the sound hand-off from speaker-to-speaker was seamless and transparent just as it should be. Dolby Atmos movies now take on a whole new life and dimension with unbelievable spacial awareness, which has taked my movie experience to a whole new level of enjoyment. Bravo Yamaha! In summary, I am very happy with my purchase of the Yamaha RX-A3060BL receiver. It's absolutely top-notch and provides probably the best sound stage of any sound system I've owned or listened to. Amazing!

Replaced my Atmos receiver and am totally pleased with the results. The separation is much better and the DTS:X is also excellent. I also like the fact that I can control almost everything with my pad. I would recommend this to anyone looking for features, power and easy setup.

I replaced my lightening damaged RX A-3000 with the 3060. Not being an electronic genius, having bad vision and old stiff legs, it was fairly difficult for me to get behind the equipment rack and move the proper speaker wires to their proper places, but I figured that out through trial and error. For most people the PDF online owner's manual will be ok, but I found it a bit tough to navigate, and still do after nearly a month. The GUI is good, but I still am trying to find my way through it to tweak things so that I am getting the full benefit of all this great receiver will do. I love the Wi-Fi capability! That is a vast improvement over the hardwired receiver it replaced. The sound of Pandora, XM-Sirius, Airplay, CD's, and Bluetooth is outstanding... spine tingling!!! I emailed Yamaha with a couple of questions on set up. They answered one. I called their customer support, and after waiting on hold for over 25 minutes got my other question answered. I still cannot determine if there is something I must do to "enable" Dolby Atmos and DTS-X, if anything, or if they take the sound put through it and transform it automatically. I couldn't get any answers from Yamaha on that. I guess we're supposed to be able to figure that out ourselves. I know it is a wonderful piece of electronics, I just wish I could figure out how to enable it to do all it can do! As I mentioned, the music sources have incredible sound... I'll bet a person who knows how to set up the receiver to use all its capabilities could have an even better experience! I'll keep trying... I just hope I don't have to pay a local home theater service to come and show me how to make full use of it.

This 9.2-channel AVENTAGE network AV receiver features Dolby Atmos and DTS:X for surround sound realism, while offering high-resolution audio playback and access to streaming music services via the built-in Wi-Fi. With the latest in HDMI technologies, experience movies in stunning 4K Ultra HD and high dynamic range (HDR). Enjoy high-resolution audio playback and access to online music with built-in Wi-Fi, connect a smartphone or tablet with Bluetooth for quick wireless access to your music or use the phono input to listen to your favorites on vinyl. This device also supports MusicCast to deliver wireless multiroom audio playback, all controlled by a simple app.
The AVENTAGE Advantage
Craftsmanship in engineering design. The AVENTAGE line of high-performance AV receivers is based on the audio design concept of providing a massive, full-bodied sound for movie sound effects and the accurate reproduction of music sources. By expertly harmonizing traditional and advanced technologies, every factor that affects sound quality, from materials and parts to construction, layout, vibration damping (unique foot) and "fine-tuning" the sound, is handled with no other thought than to achieve the best possible audio quality. As a result, every AVENTAGE model has the ability to reproduce the most subtle details of high-definition sound, so that listeners can enjoy a truly high-class sound studio experience at home.
High Quality Parts for Optimum Performance
The whole is greater than the sum. Every single part in an AV receiver affects the sound quality. For AVENTAGE models, extra time is taken to find (or develop) the exact parts needed to achieve the highest performance possible. Sound technicians go through a testing process to, in effect, "tune" the receiver's sound.
Total Purity
Enjoy fine sound quality. The Total Purity Concept, which Yamaha has been cultivating for many years, encompasses high drive amp technology, high purity preamplification, anti-vibration technology and independent pure power supplies. All models have fully discrete power amplifiers that help minimize distortion. They also adopt pure independent power supplies, allowing dedicated power supplies for the analog and digital circuitry to prevent digital noise from affecting analog circuitry. The anti-vibration heat sinks are designed to suppress vibration from transistors and sound pressure. Independent power supplies for the DACs are designed to further eliminate noise on certain models. Down to every detail, these AV receivers are designed with full emphasis on the highest possible sound quality.
Symmetrical Power Amplifier
Designed to the details. The interior of the unit has been precisely planned, circuit-routed and built so that the left and right channels are physically and electrically isolated. This naturally maximizes channel separation but also greatly improves signal to noise ratio and also helps to achieve a wide open sound stage for a superior receiver.
H-shaped Frame
Reinforced for rigidity. The interior of the receiver is reinforced with cross members in an H shape to provide an extremely rigid and stable frame. This reduces chassis vibration to virtually zero even during high volume output (seemingly minor vibrations can affect the sound), maintaining the highest audio quality.
Aluminum Front Panel
Shielded from noise. All of the AVENTAGE components feature the same sleek, clean design, with an elegant aluminum front panel and silky touch volume/selector knobs. The aluminum front panel is used to effectively shield sensitive circuitry from external noise and electronic radiation generated by dimmer switches, fluorescent lighting, video monitors and so on. This ensures optimum sonic performance in the widest range of installation environments.
