About Yamaha RX-A3030

The Yamaha Rx-A3030 9.2 Channel Network Aventage Audio Video Receiver gains in performance starting with the double bottom chassis design. This 9.2 channel AV receiver offers expandability up to 11.2 channels for superb surround sound realism utilizing the CINEMA DSP HD3 engine. Enjoy advanced HDMI zone switching in a second zone while utilizing Yamaha's most powerful video processor available. With the ESS Technology ES9016 SABRE32 Ultra DAC and ESS Technology ES9006 SABRE Premier Audio DAC, audio quality is at its best when combined with Yamaha's most powerful version of auto room calibration, YPAO with angle correction.

Anti-Resonance Technology Wedge
The Anti-Resonance Technology (A.R.T.) Wedge is a fifth foot in the center of the unit. It dampens vibrations from the power transformer, power transistors and heat sinks, as well as vibrations that might be caused by the sound from the speakers.

Aluminum Front Panel
All of the AVENTAGE components feature the same clean design with an aluminum front panel and ultra-smooth volume/selector knobs. The aluminum front panel is used to effectively shield sensitive circuitry from external noise and electronic radiation generated by dimmer switches, fluorescent lighting, video monitors and other electronics. This ensures optimum sonic performance in the widest range of installation environments.

H-Shaped Cross Member Frame
The interior of the receiver is reinforced with cross members in an H shape to provide an extremely rigid and stable frame. This reduces chassis vibration to virtually zero even during high volume output (seemingly minor vibrations can affect the sound), maintaining a high audio quality.

Symmetrical Power Amplifier Layout
The interior of the unit has been precisely planned, circuit-routed and built so that the left and right channels are physically and electrically isolated. This naturally maximizes channel separation, but also greatly improves signal to noise ratio and also helps to achieve a wide, open sound stage.

Total Purity Concept
The Total Purity Concept, which Yamaha has been cultivating for many years, encompasses high drive amp technology, high purity pre-amplification, anti-vibration technology and independent pure power supplies. All models have a fully discrete power amplifier that helps to minimize distortion. They also adopt independent pure power supplies, allowing dedicated power supplies for the analog and digital circuitry to prevent digital noise from affecting analog circuitry. The anti-vibration heat sinks suppress vibration from transistors and sound pressure. Independent power supplies for the DACs help eliminate noise.

ESS Technology Premier Audio DACs
This model incorporates the 192 kHz / 24-bit ES9006 Premier Audio DACs from ESS Technology to achieve an exceptional signal-to-noise ratio and up to 120 dB of dynamic range for professional quality digital audio production.

Extensive Audio Codec & Format Support
This AV receiver is compatible with many audio formats including Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio. It is also compatible with FLAC/WAV 192 kHz playback, which means excellent sound quality playback when you're watching a Blu-ray Disc or any other type of high resolution audio/video source.

Multi-Channel Format
This model supports Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Pro Logic II, Dolby Pro Logic IIX, DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS-HD High Resolution Audio, DTS Digital Surround, DTS Digital Surround 96/24 and DTS Neo:6.

USB / Network Audio Formats
This AV receiver supports multiple formats including: FLAC up to 192 kHz / 24-bit, WAV up to 192 kHz / 24-bit, MP3 up to 48 kHz / 320 kbps, MPEG-AAC up to 48 kHz / 320 kbps and WMA up to 48 kHz / 320 kbps.

High-Resolution Music Enhancer
Hi-bit high-sampling extension up to 96 kHz / 24-bit can be applied to lossless 44.1 kHz / 48 kHz content such as from a CD (2-channel PCM) or a FLAC file for further heightening of the sonic quality in the original content.

Ultra HD 4K Pass-Through & Up scaling
This unit's HDMI input/output connectors support Ultra HD 4K video image pass-through. It can also perform Ultra HD 4K up scaling to boost a lower resolution image to super high-def resolution. This ensures compatibility with the latest super high resolution video formats. The receiver will upscale content to Full HD 1080p from analog and HDMI inputs as well.

Yamaha Video Processing for Optimized Video Content
Yamaha engineers have produced various advanced processing techniques that are applied to this AV receiver. These include edge adaptive deinterlacing to smooth out jaggy noise, motion adaptive deinterlacing to detect moving or still images for precise pixel-by-pixel processing and multi-cadence detection including 3-2 pull-down. Proper processing improves viewing quality no matter what video source or content you're watching.

HDMI with 3D & Audio Return Channel
HDMI with 3D means the receiver can handle 3D signal data via the HDMI terminals. The Audio Return Channel function enables data to be sent and received via the same HDMI cable, so you can hear the sound from the TV via a single HDMI cable, with no need for an extra optical cable.

Network Functions
This AV receiver provides a variety of network functions that enable you to access more sources and also enhances operation. You can connect the receiver to a PC to enjoy Internet radio, Pandora and Rhapsody. You can also operate your system via Web Browser Control. Plus, the AV Controller App (from iTunes App Store or Google Play) lets you control various functions from your iPod, iPhone, iPad or Android mobile device.

AV Controller App
You can use the free Yamaha AV Controller App with this receiver. The app is downloadable from the iTunes App Store or Google Play and it allows you to control the system's power on/off and volume. You can also use the app to select input and DSP modes, as well as operate other functions from an iPhone or Android mobile device. You can use the app in as many as 23 different languages and you can customize the app interface by hiding unused icons and renaming functions. A tablet version is also available.

AirPlay Music Streaming
This model supports Airplay, which means it can accept wireless music streaming from an iPod, iPhone or iPad, as well as from iTunes on a Mac or PC. This makes it easy to enjoy music from your mobile devices or computer on your home theater system. You can view metadata such as song title, artist name and album art via the AV receiver's on-screen display (some models don't support album art display).

MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) Video & Audio Mirroring
MHL provides an easy, direct connection between compatible mobile devices and this AV receiver. MHL supports playback of up to Full HD 1080p video and multi-channel audio from your MHL-enabled mobile device. The receiver also charges the connected phone. You can use the system's remote control to operate play, stop and other basic MHL functions.

Front Panel USB Digital Connection for iPod, iPhone & iPad
A USB port on the front panel allows convenient connection of an iPod/iPhone/iPad, which also charges when connected. Because the digital signal from the iPod/iPhone/iPad is transmitted directly to the AV receiver, there is no signal loss or interference, so you'll always enjoy the best possible sound quality from your iOS mobile device. In addition, you can use the receiver's remote control to operate the iPod/iPhone/iPad music playback functions.

YPAO R.S.C. Sound Optimization with Multi-Point Measurement
YPAO analyzes room acoustics and measures various speaker characteristics, then calibrates audio parameters to achieve optimum sound at any of eight listening positions. It employs Reflected Sound Control (R.S.C.) to correct early reflections for studio-quality sound. It also provides DSP Effect Normalization, which varies the CINEMA DSP parameters according to the reflected sounds. The YPAO microphone and YPAO microphone base are both included.

HDMI CEC Multi-Device Operation
Another benefit of HDMI is the availability of CEC functionality. When the unit is connected to a CEC compatible TV, it will turn on and off together with the TV and you can use the TV remote to control the volume. CEC also provides advanced functionality with other components. For example, you can use the receiver's remote to control player functions like skip and stop. All connected devices must be HDMI CEC compatible and some CEC compatible TVs/players may not work.

Front Panel HDMI Input
In addition to the multiple HDMI inputs on the rear panel, there is also one on the front panel. This gives you a convenient way to quickly plug in a digital camera or camcorder for high-quality digital picture and video viewing.

Input Selection in HDMI Standby Through Mode
When the AV receiver is in HDMI Standby Through mode, the input source (Blu-ray Disc player, game console, etc.) for viewing on the monitor can be changed via the remote control. There's no need to turn on the AV receiver in order to switch sources.

Low Standby Power Consumption
Yamaha makes its receivers eco-friendly with a low standby power consumption of 0.35W in IR Standby mode, 5W in HDMI Standby Through mode and 2.2W in Network Standby mode.
