Not able to stream

This is a disappointment as even our IT cannot find out how to stream from the computer.

This Yamaha receiver is great

This Yamaha receiver replaced one that was 9 years old and I am totally satisfied with my new one it has so many new features, that I have yet to figure them all out.

Great, but not perfect

Generally I am satisfied with sound, look and features. All the good things are probably written in reviews, so I would like to emphasize few things which block the full satisfaction of an user. 1. It only supports total of 500 files on USB drive, whether you place them in one or more subfolders. This makes severe limitation on using front USB port for connecting USB sticks with your favorite music. Who's bright idea was to implement such a limit?! 2. There are to many scenes. Instead of implementing scenes which very few, if anyone, would use, Yamaha could spent that effort to improve and simplify most used functions. 3. There is no printed version of manual delivered with device. Yes, I have PDF on attached CD, or I can download it easily, but when I am connecting receiver to other devices and configuring countless functions, there is no better than printed instructions.

I would buy this again!

This was easy to set up. It's great with the TV surround sound. However, when it's turned on, the tv function defaults to AV, a known issue via Google. I set the TV button on the remote under "scenes" to memorize HDMI 2. It's a little bit of a hassle but it fixes the issue.

Great AVR. Instruction manual...not so much.

This is a highly functional, high quality AVR more than adequate for home use. One exceptional function is bluetooth OUT availability - rarely found on comparable AVRs - as well as bluetooth IN, which is standard with virtually everyone else. E.g., I can have the TV news on in one room while I can listen to it on a bluetooth speaker in the kitchen. Same with Pandora. Same with a CD playing through the AVR. Fantastic!

Shame On Yamaha

It appears Yamaha is cutting corners by not including a printed manual but provide it on CD. That's not very useful since my computer is in one room and the receiver in another. I had to pay a printing service $11 to print it for me. Pretty sure Yamaha could get this done for less than $1. I would gladly pay an extra fee for a printed manual which you need for this unit. It's hard to adjust bass, treble, and midrange. You have 5 sliding digital bars that give no indication which is bass and which is treble. Would it really be so hard to use analog dials on the front of the unit? As is the midrange is too high.

Good performer

It is an integral part my entertainment system. Processes sound great. Does not process AM radio very well. There is about a 5 second delay processing sound at initial startup.

A Good Value

I purchased this to replace a dying Sony receiver, and it's a great replacement. Pros: simple setup, works with Apple AirPlay, Bluetooth connectivity, simple sound field controls. Cons: some trouble setting up my Harmony One remote with unit automatically changing sound port, but easily dealt with. I had to replace my old Energy subwoofer, which simply wouldn't work with this receiver. New Polk Audio subwoofer works great with it. Yamaha iOS app for iPad works great with this receiver.
