I currently use this product in my game room/media room. It is currently part of a 3.1 surround system. It works great by itself added to a TV and at this price point can be used as a better than TV alone surround system.

There is some engineering flaw to cause power failure in two units after a few months of use. Don't waste your money on this model.

I received this as a gift. I am not thrilled by the performance. I have the bar set up using the arc HDMi, yet the clear voice has little impact. The volume needs to be turned up high to hear voices and then the background sound it too loud. It is better than your TVs built in speakers, but you have the Same typical problems with audio. Movie, Sports, TV, streaming all seem to half an audio life of their own and you have to constantly play around with settings. Another pet peeve is that the sound bar will just power off as you are watching something. Not sure whats up with that.

Pretty good little device for the price. I've been using this subwoofer along side my MusicCast preamp (and extended environment) for about three years now. The soundbar gets the job done when listening at medium levels, but too much bass will made the soundbar struggle-- this isn't an issue for most music, just the real bass-heavy tunes. Another issue I have with the YAS-108 is the device has a tendency to stop working (lights on, no output) when I switch room presets on the MusicCast controller app. I know this isn't a MusicCast device, but I've had a good run with few issues using the soundbar in tandem with a MusicCast network. I've just installed the HomeTheater App and my iPhone and the soundbar communicated to each other instantly, no extra setup. Security concerns aside (let's hope my neighbors don't buy the same soundbar) the app does what it's supposed to. Still happy with the purchase.

Yamaha has been doing audio electronics for decades and this product shows that they still know what they are doing and are still doing it well ! Not too big; not too small; this soundbar is just the right size ! This finally brought all my living room audio needs together in one stylish product; love the bluetooth connectivity.

The instruction manual literally states: "Do not use this unit in the vicinity of other electronic equipment, such as a TV, radio, or mobile phone." (See pg. 10, under installation.) That defeats its primary purpose. Also, instructions could have saved me an hour or two of frustration if the "Connecting to a TV" illustrations showed the necessity of connecting a video signal source to HDMI IN. Also, I intended to use this as a center channel for a Yamaha AVR 3.1 or 5.1 surround sound system in the future but it appears this sound bar isn't suitable for connecting to the center channel of an AVR.
