Simple setup, attractive appearance and works well with my Yamaha amp and its remote. Don't understand why a modern tuner wouldn't include digital support, that's something that my car audio systems have had for years.

I am happy with the tuner. The antenna that came with the tuner should have been higher quality. It does work better than the powered antennas I tried though. Overall I am very happy with this tuner.

As usual the experts at Crutchfield give great advice and again I'm extremely pleased with my new Tuner.

I live in an area with poor FM reception. I was using a different brand receiver that gave poor reception of my favorite station. Its stereo setting was very noisy and the mono setting was somewhat poor. Yamaha TS 500 (connected to an audio input of this receiver) gave stereo reception that was better than the mono reception of the receiver whose tuner section was being replaced. There was still a little background noise on stereo so I use it on mono. The Yamaha TS 500 is obviously a much more sensitive tuner than what this tuner has.

Comments about Yamaha t-s500: A decent, very easy to use AM/FM Tuner. FM and AM reception is good. FM stereo sound is also decent. It would have been nice to include RDS and HD Radio in the design. An included remote would have been nice.

A decent, very easy to use AM/FM Tuner. FM and AM reception is good. FM stereo sound is also decent. It would have been nice to include RDS and HD Radio in the design (Europe and Asia versions of this tuner have these capabilities, as well as a choice of brushed aluminum instead of just black. Why doe the US always get different stuff??)
