Getting what you pay for ...

Clock radios , I know , are old fashioned and it seems not too many are investing in a good product . It was my wife's wish although and I was on a quest . Purchased inexpensive ones who just up and failed in a few months , ones with huge billboard numbers for the aging population that still buys them . Decided to try another tactic and this one is a winner . It Bluetooth connects to our phones and Pads easily along with using all our lovely old Jazz CD's . And the radio is superb ... along with a gradual , sensitive wake up built in . Sound quality is the best of all our small room players in our home . My wife is so happy and we enjoy it together ; it creates a mood of peace for us . I could have continued purchasing the short term , breaking radios ... you get what you pay for here .

Excellent Sound and Elegant Design

This desktop audio system has great sound quality for it's small footprint and it's built well with a high quality look and feel. It blends in nicely with the decor in my wife's art studio. She likes that it is easy to operate whether Bluetooth, audio CD or radio. It's the second one we have purchased, she has another one in her quitting room.

Best alarm clock ever

The Yamaha Sound system was originally purchased to replace a cheaper Alarm Radio that I had for years. I wanted something with better sound quality since I was listening to it for at least an hour every day. Since I'm an audiophile, with a collection of great sounding equipment, I wondered what was the best sounding system that also acts as an alarm clock. The Yamaha TSX B235, had the specs so I ordered a white one from Adorama. It was going to be a Christmas present but sadly it was backordered. It was still worth the wait since every audio source I've tried on it sounds great. It has got it all; Bluetooth, CD, AM/FM digital radio, several alternate inputs, and even a USB charging port! Did I mention an equalizer also. There are several ways to program it to wake you up. The feature that I enjoy is when the alarm goes off the sound slowly comes up to the level that you set. You also program the station or, if you are using a CD, the track to wake you up. This is a great sound system, but it is big. It easily takes twice the space of the alarm systems it replaced so it only allows a small amount of room on your night stand for a lamp - maybe. You won't be disappointed with the sound and features on this system.

Glad I got one in white it's beautiful

I leave this on every day for my dogs at level 7. I'm sure it uses way less electricity than my OG stack of stereo equipment.

Big sound from a little box!

I use the Yamaha tsx-b235 to listen to FM radio & play CDs. The sound quality is better than similar products I have heard which cost hundreds of $$$ more. The box is atop a bureau at one end of a 30X12 ft room. When I'm sitting at the other end, the volume set @ 50%, the sound which I hear is full, rich and loud. I'm very happy - so far - with this purchase.

Solid performance, excellent value

I purchased my unit less than one month ago, so I cannot comment on long-term performance and reliability; however, I am very impressed with the TSX B235 so far. FM radio reception is excellent for the stations I care about; no problems playing files on USB flash drives; and the CD drive has been flawless. AM radio reception is not as good, but I rarely listen to AM so that matters little to me. I think the TSX B235 is a fine choice for a bedroom, office, kitchen, or dorm room. My only concern with audio performance is that at higher volumes the cabinet resonates enough that it can muddy the sound a bit. I placed it in a spare bedroom where it will receive modest use at modest volumes, so cabinet resonance is of little consequence for me. I do not stream music via Bluetooth, so others will need to comment about that. The TSX B235 is likely too large a unit for most bedside tables, but it should fit well on bookshelves, bureaus, chests of drawers, etc. I am very pleased with my purchase, and I think Yamaha has offered excellent for my money.
