Best thing since sliced bread!!

Good for TV sound enhancement/music. My neighbor thought I had a multiple audio system.

Great Sound without all of the speakers

I have many Yamaha product and none have disappointed me. The best feature of this sound bar is that I do not have to worry about switching inputs. It is smart enough to know if I am watching Netflix on my Smart TV vs Cable TV vs Roku. This feature alone makes it a great product. But add to it excellent immersing sound and not needing 16 wires to connect the speakers...This is the life.

First soundbar, absolutely incredible

My wife and I live in a townhouse, wanted surround sound without lots of speakers, and came across this incredible product. Setup was a breeze; music, movies, everything sounds absolutely perfect. Bravo!!!!!!

Very good solution

The sound emulation for 5.1 and 7.1 is good/acceptable and setup was virtually "automatic". Currently switching all inputs through 4300 instead of going through the new Samsung Series 7100 TV and feeding through HDMI2 input on the 4300. Room is about 400sq ft (14x27) and plenty of reflective surfaces with witch the 4300 was able to use for configuration. The Subwoofer is acceptable at best. My feedback to Yamaha has been to add a SW Line out on the sound bar, or directly on the wireless SW, or just give me the schematic and I'll do it myself. I have a great Klipsch 250W SW 12" that sounds great, but it is heading to Craigs List/EBAY since it is just going to collect dust.. I was going to purchase the 5100 but is now discontinued and finding a cabinet that had adequate shelf height to clear the 5100 was a nightmare (the 5100 comes configured only as a sound bar with a SW "out".

It's note what i hoped for.

it was supposed to provide state of the art sound but it don't. I got it because i didn't have space for a sound system. When i got it i noticed you don't really hear any audio form the wireless sub and i wasn't to far away. Their are so many choices for settings their is no way to know which setting are the right one. If you make a single error you will have to get a new one. It breaks very easy so if you have kids don't get it. i'm a scifi action buff fan. When i tried to watch star wars terminator and so fourth. I noticed i wasn't really hearing any sound from the sub and it was set to max. Is a big issue i turned it off. i than checked and everything was working fin. it just a very weak sub. So if you are like me and you like watching action and scifi you are better off with a big bulky sound system no matter what anybody says. I did so instead of buying the latest pioneer elite sound system with the class D3 app i got this. It great for all other programing and shows as long as it not a action film or scifi and films where you need a powerful app and state of the art sub to give you the feeling you are there.

I am totally blown away!

After marriage and kids forced me to dispose of my old tube amplifier and big energy-hog speakers, I had been forced to endure average surround sound through the multiple small speakers that encircled the room where the big-screen HDTV was located. When we recently decided to redecorate that room, my wife demanded we get rid of all the "ugly" speakers on the walls that didn't match the new decor. After multiple estimates from local media companies, describing ingenious and very expensive ways of hiding wiring and speakers using the state-of-the-art electronic devices combined with some destruction and reconstruction of walls and ceilings - it came down to better quality 2-channel sound or poorer quality surround sound, but they said we couldn't have both. That's when I noted the Yamaha YSP series of sound processor/sound bars. I took a chance on the most recent model, the YSP-4300 (which can be purchased for more than 1/3 off retail price if you look hard enough) and the results have been fantastic. You get a wireless sub and a very large and stylish soundbar that looks great under the TV. All at a price less than 1/3 of what the stereo installer guys wanted to charge. I've eliminated 2/3 of my previous wires, which helped make set-up actually fairly fast and easy. The manual is on CD, which is unfortunate, but is easier to navigate on-line from Yamaha on a tablet you can have with you where you need it. The instructions are a little minimalistic, and there are a few quirks, and some things needed to be done twice to work right, but in particular the sonic calibration is fast, easy and automatic. Set-up takes a while, but only because of the many, many features and variations the system includes. I was worried because the TV is in a room with a loft above, an irregular height tall ceiling, several open walls, a staircase and multiple other features that I thought would interfere with good surround sound - but the system calibrated 7.1 with the wireless subwoofer and the sound is GREAT. I get great surround sound as well as high-quality audio. It's not the audio quality I had with my tube amp and speakers, but I wasn't expecting or needing it to be. There are available modes for everything including FM, iPod/iPad, cable, sports, music, DVD's and Blu-ray's, and virtually every kind of audio/video input you can think of - including 4K pass-through for stuff that hasn't even been invented yet. The remote works well, and can control some of my other equipment. My Logitech Harmony universal remote recognizes the 4300, and controls the functions without a problem - except the 4300 has so many features and choices that they go on for pages and pages on the remote's little screen. Easier to use the Yamaha remote to do anything complex. All in all, I'm ecstatic that the sound quality and available features are as well designed and implemented as they are, and that I don't have to worry about my wife complaining about the ugly speakers any more. For me, it's a "win-win" situation, and one of the best purchases I've ever made.

Outstanding Performance

We added the YSP-4300 to our existing home theater setup which was in need of an upgrade. I was not interested in the challenges presented to wire the room correctly and went looking for a quality sound bar solution. The YSP-4300 more than exceeded my expectations. Connecting to cable, DVD, AppleTV, etc was easy. Following the setup directions was a breeze. After a few subtle tweaks to adjust for personal taste the system is performing flawlessly. No wires. Clean look. Great sound. I am very happy with this purchase.

A little bit of buyer's remorse

My intended use of YSP-4300 was to replace multi-speaker surround sound system with a "no wire" system while retaining a reasonable surround sound experience. It achieves the look but not the "surround" I had hoped for. I am a beginner to sound bar technology so to be fair to the product; the room is a non-traditional open space, placed in a corner, sounds very clean but with no surround effect. Hind sight reveals that I could achieve the same experience for much less cost. Set up is reasonable with no issues. The product works smoothly with TV, Blue ray player and Satellite except for remote. I discovered that I must use Yamaha remote for volume which takes away form simplifying the home entertainment.

The Ultimate Soundbar

I have had this Yamaha YSP for a week now and while I think it is a bit overpriced Yamaha makes products for the high end of the market and this is a very well constructed product with a solid feel. This sound bar has all the latest technology and all the inputs you need. This is a step up from the YSP 3300 with more drivers and more power and a front USB port and built in FM Radio and it compliments my Samsung UN60ES7500 and it worked flawlessly from first set up and the sound is 100 times better than any TV. I have to listen to it with my latest movies then I will give it a part 2 review. This may very well be the last soundbar you buy and so far I am very impressed. Stay tune for part 2 of my review
