I love the way this piano sounds and the different voices it can achieve. This keyboard will keep me interested and growing as a musician for a very long time.

I've been a long-time Yamaha customer (nearly 60 years) and have enjoyed playing your keyboard instruments all that time. I did a lot of research on the DGX-670 and it lived up to my expectations in terms of feel, functions and unending options. My only criticism is that the onboard speakers don't sound good so I primarily use headphones until I figure out an external sound system. It's a shame, because 99% of the time, the keyboard will be used in my home. But that is my only con against many pros.

I'm the owner of Cross Roads Of Statesville Studio and I recently purchased the DGX670. All of the musicians who have used it, so far, have loved it. It works great as a stand alone instrument or for composing and arranging full scores. One of the best and most versatile instruments I have ever owned and highly recommend it.

I do love having a keyboard? but I wish I had spent more time deciding *which* keyboard. This instrument has tons (and tons) of functionality that I will never use. I just change to piano room and play? so the many options are wasted on me. I should have chosen a much simpler (and much less expensive) keyboard.

First, the cons...its a little heavy. But, the pros outway that. The sound is awesome with many unexpected features including recording and sequencing. The thing that most attracted me was the feel of the keyboard. It makes me want to play it all day long.

I love everything about this keyboard. I've had it for a couple of months now and am still learning how to use all the functions (not sure if I ever will.) I have encountered a minor annoyance, though. Under the Style selections, I pick Latin & World and on the first display presented, I select the Bossa Nova preset (top entry in the right column). When I start playing and want to use the Style Control option to change from main variation #1 to 2, 3 or 4, it switches correctly but when I start to play the melody, it switches back to #1. If there is a way to keep it from doing that, I'd be truly delighted!

Retired drummer looking for musical enjoyment and I found it. Beautiful sound and love how changing the key is a 1 finger event. The enormous collection of rhythms allows me to play almost anything. I know nothing about playing piano or organ but this instrument gives me so much pleasure and only time will tell if I make it to Carnegie Hall HA HA

We love the Yamaha DGX 670 Digital Piano. It is portable and stationary, good for professionals and beginners. It really enhances our worship services and the more we learn it, I know we will sound even better.

Love the voices and keyboard action, but the built-in speaker appears to have a design or production issue causing overpowering resonance on the C note below middle C, very noticeable on the acoustic piano settings (CFX Grand, etc.). I exchanged the piano for a second one, both brand new and still in the box. Same issue. I resorted to purchasing external speakers (hs7) to solve the problem, because I otherwise am enamored with the instrument.

I like the sound and the easy way of creating music. It looks great and the weighted keys are a real gift to genuine piano feel.

I loved the sound and versatility of the piano. The only thing which is most disappointing is the key noise and not enough bass from speakers. I am very much annoyed by the key sound.

In general the piano is wonderful. I would like to see some additional features and improvements. As of now... -increase volume by at least 50% -add additional USB ports for piano light, tablet and backup memory stick. -saving MIDI songs is awkward. Improvement needed. -add for a condenser mic input with phantom power or add audio interphase for two mics eliminating external unit with a bypass feature for adding a better quality interphase. - input for two headphones. -increase length of music sheet holder to accommodate at least three 8.5x11 sheets. In the center part increase height to accommodate a clip on piano light. Thanks...

I am a busy working musician. I own two of these keyboards. One of them sits at home, set up in the stand. The second keyboard stays in my car for use on gigs. The learning curve was moderately difficult to gain the control I needed for live gigs Ultimately, it was worth the effort. With the unit at home, I work on rhythm and sounds. I save my work to memory stick, which I then load the results on the gigging unit. It is ideal. The keyboard sounds great and the extensive rhythm library is great. Only negative- it's heavy

I bought my DGX-670 to replace a 30-year-old Korg digital piano. The advances in musical instrument technology in that time were a big factor, especially with respect to the piano sound. The amount of polyphony and the large number of available voices were also a significant factor, because I wanted more than the handful of voices the typical digital piano offers, but didn't want to pay the additional expense for a synthesizer. Now that I've owned the 670 for a couple of months, here are my positives and negatives: POSITIVES ? audio recording to USB ? excellent piano sound ? the ability to modify and save voices ? decent choice of effects ? good sound and volume from built-in speakers ? lightweight, making it easy to move the fully assembled piano and stand ? ability to route external audio through the speakers ? good keyboard action NEGATIVES ? too many duplicated voices, especially among the pianos ? too many similar synth voices ? some of the sounds feel kind of thin - for example, my 30-year-old Korg has a much fuller-sounding vibraphone ? no step sequencing option ? audio recording level is too low-it could easily be boosted another 3-5 dB without any danger of clipping or distortion ? last-used settings, especially voice and style selection, are not retained when the power is turned off ? lack of backlighting or button indicator lights makes changing voices difficult in low-light settings ? menu navigation is not always intuitive ? no touchscreen navigation-I'm generally not a fan of touchscreens, but the 670 really needs one ? should be at least 48 kHz/24-bit for audio recording, instead of 44.1 kHz/16-bit, particularly since audio is written to a USB drive ? like nearly all digital pianos and synthesizers, skimps on internal memory (only 20 MB) ? audio inputs and outputs are inconsistent, mixing ¼-inch and 3.5 mm jacks The 670 gives you a lot of features for your money. But it could be better.

The Yamaha DGX-670 is an exceptional digital piano that offers the entire set of features of an acoustic one, with all the technology on board to offer a user experience that goes way beyond "just" a keyboard: plenty of rhythms -some of them adaptive to the pianist' cadence- 16-track recording, tremendous sound, and many many more things. The HUGE caveat is the user manual: for some reason Yamaha has divided the content into FOUR different sub-manuals that add confusion and makes the operation extremely difficult to understand -so much so that I am relying on YouTube videos uploaded by other users explaining certain features, e.g. recording in 16 channels, suppressing some elements of the accompaniment, etc. SUGGESTION: please do sell the piano with a QR code pointing to some Yamaha on-line training/tutorial making the whole experience of getting familiar with the piano much more user-friendly

As for playing it is absolutely wonderful. As perfect as it gets. However, the menus are VERY cumbersome and elusive. As a workstation it is not at all easy. I have worked with a Yamaha PSR-740 for 20+ years and find this to be the total best. If only the DGX 670 had THIS layout, one would have the 'PERFECT MACHINE.

Well I like it, but don't love it! because I'm not allowed to use the background music in my music recordings and I really like the background music , but I don't like the hard keys and I'm yet to figure out how to record my original songs on the keyboard.

Never thought I would have so much fun playing a piano. I had another basic model before but the DXG670 is a blast! I play by ear and for myself. I would certainly recommend this to anyone that wants more versatility in a keyboard.

Having retired from full-time work I wanted to learn and do new things. That includes learning to play piano and other keyboards. As I put together my wish-list, I found that I wanted MIDI, 72 or 88 keys, piano action keys, high-quality sounds, auto accompaniment, and other learning aids. I also wanted the unit to be smaller than an actual piano (i.e., I don't want something the size or weight of an upright piano); in other words - a portable class keyboard because I needed to get it to a 2nd floor room. I preferred that it would have decent to good internal audio, though that was not a hard requirement because I have powered audio monitors. I chose the DGX-670 after checking out several reviews and auditioning it at a local music store. After several months of playing and exploring its vast capabilities I continue to be impressed with every aspect of it, including its versatility and programmability. Its depth of functionality is impressive and will surely keep my learning, growing, and exploring for years.

I've used it now for 8 weeks regularly. It's held up beautifully with its specified application. I'm used to the Yamaha tech on the keyboard top, so the technical features fall pretty easily into my domain of experience. If I were to want more, it would fall into what the many full featured electronic organs had, from the little organ shops in the malls: bells, whistles, drums, voices, etc. But I wanted just mostly piano, some keyboard, some few other voices here and there, depending on the song. That's what I lean on, use mostly, and look forward to using tonight again.
