My New Yamaha Keyboard P-125A

I think it works a lot better than my old keyboard for sound quality. I got to play it once live in a performance, and it went pretty well. It's been the most beneficial playing and recording songs at my place of residence.

This is the fourth p125 I have bought they are very good for the price. I have owned Motifs and still do but for traveling this does the job. They are simple keyboard but have a good piano sound to me

Better than expected

I thought it would be fun to have a keyboard in addition to my piano. Turns out I use the keyboard more than the piano! It's fun to play and I know I haven't even scratched the surface of what it can do. I was able to assemble everything by myself within a couple of hours and I'm almost 70 years old! So anyone can do it. If you didn't think a keyboard could match an acoustic piano, think again. This has been a great purchase.

Wow! What a Great Piano!!

I love this piano! The default sound (Grand Piano) is so pleasing and gratifying. I'm so satisfied with that sound that I rarely use the other voices -except to play around and have a little extra fun. I've practiced and played on "real" keyboards for many years and this keyboard has an authentic and extraordinary feel. The 2 speakers are quite powerful and produce as much or more volume as compared to an acoustic piano. The piano came with a stand and bench and music stand which look nice and fit together well. Improvements: * The controls and settings are very accessible with my Ipad interface. I would have to say that some of the settings are difficult without an Ipad connection. I think Yamaha is on the right track with not trying to "re-invent the wheel" by providing their own digital inferface when the Ipad works so well. * It would have been nice to have the piano come with the midi cable to connect the piano to my Ipad. I got one from Amazon for about $10 * The piano came with a sustain foot pedal (I liken it to the old sewing maching foot pedal) but I found myself chasing it around the carpet with my right root. It did not want to stay in place. So I purchased the 3-pedal accessory for about $100 and am much happier with that. Also the 3 pedal enables additional funtions that the default 1 pedal cannot do. * It would be nice if the 3 pedals came as a regular option but I understand Yamah is wanting to be competitive on price.

Beyond my wildest dreams

I have always wanted a piano since I was a child and finally at the age of 68 I was given the Yamaha P-125a as a Christmas present Having only previously played acoustic pianos I am quite frankly amazed at the range and versatility of this piano, it is truly amazing. I really didn't want to have a keyboard with a multitude of voices but the P-125a is a wonderful fun thing to play

P-125a review

The build quality and materials seem quite nice. The keys lack texture and are therefore a little slippery. The action is good with a nice acoustic piano feel. Not nearly enough sounds from the piano although most will use it with a DAW that will add tons to the sound options. No 1/4 inch line out is a really dumb move. Yes you just use the headphone jack but come on. Over all it's good enough all be it expensive considering the above.

Yamaha P125a digital piano

This piano is great - more than meets my needs. Thinking I'll have to try the strings setting for the Hot August Night prologue..... Weighted keys are great. Sound is good - haven't tried all the options yet. The only thing I don't like about this product is the flimsy sustain pedal. It slides all over. Like that I can turn off the sound and use earphones to play early in the morning. Overall, a good purchase!

It's great for beginners to intermediate

It's a very nice product. Well made and plays all the keys. There is slight ticking noise on the keys but I am not sure if this is because it is new. Would only bother me if I was advanced but I am still a beginner.

Dissapointed with quality

Was very happy with the purchase at first, but after a month piano started to make weird sound in "piano" mode. Sent back for warranty replacement. Waited for 2 weeks for the replacement to arrive just to find out that one of the key is sticking and not coming back up! Now awaiting collection and warranty replacement again. Piano was purchased for my 10 years boy, who was preparing for a Grade 5 exam and now most likely we will have to postpone exam, as he couldn't practice for more than a month :( Otherwise piano is very nice to play, good sound and feel.
