This was quite an impressive sound bar and subwoofer. It was pretty simple to set-up, even for a non-tech savvy person like myself. Total setup probably only took about 15 minutes, including removal from the box. It works well with my LG 4K TV and I am super pleased with how the sound bar looks on my mantle. The subwoofer is a bit harder to hide/look at but is quite small for the intense bass that it produces. I am VERY pleased with the sound quality. The sound is rich and perfect for what I need while watching movies/listening to music. My whole family has enjoyed a theater like experience at home with these two products. I would definitely recommend to friends looking for smooth, high-quality sound with smaller components and easy setup.

I've never used a sound bar before and honestly was skeptical about the difference it could truly make especially with how good of sound new tvs have. I also was concerned there would be a million wires and so much to hook up it would be messy, confusing, complicated and not worth the effort. I was wrong on every end. It plugged in straight to my tv with hdmi and the subwoofer connected wirelessly via Bluetooth. I ran into 2 issues but they were resolved very quickly. I couldn't figure out how to activate the Bluetooth to connect the subwoofer to the soundbar. I googled it and found there was a certain button you had to hold down on the remote and it paired instantly. 2nd issue. My tv recognized the audio device immediately and said it was connected BUT no sound was coming out. I checked connections, ports everything. Everything was right. Again I turned to google and it suggested unplugging your tv for about 30 seconds. I did this and it worked perfectly. Recently my sound bar got unplugged and the same thing happened. Unplugged the tv and when I plugged it back it worked perfect. I also love that I can either use the remote it came with, my own remote or even a remote on their app. That makes it nice to not have to strugggle keeping up with their remote as it's kind of small. Had I known the difference a soundbar makes with movies and gaming I would have gotten this sooner. This is a 10/10.

I am very happy with this product. It was very easy to setup and it is easy to use. I really like the presets for the various uses such as movies or gaming. The sound quality is very good, no crackling or popping as I have had in previous products I have owned of this type. It's also compatible with my TV, so if I turn off the soundbar it automatically switched back to the built in speakers. I also enjoy the feature to adjust the volume on the soundbar and subwoofer separately it makes it easier to adjust the volume based on my personal preferences. I received this product for free in exchange for writing this review, but I would definitely recommend it for purchase. It is great for the average user, no complicated settings.

Comparing to the two I had previously to this has blown them away! The ease of pairing to all of my devices and set up was just amazing. This has louder and clearer tv sound. The sub woofer give a nice clean bass with music and movies. My son and his friends connected his PlayStation 5 to it, let just say I now have to purchase another one for him.

This Yamaha SR-B40A soundbar and sub woofer is phenomenal. I love the sound and ease it was to install. This product surpasses other soundbars I have owned especially the quality of sound. I would definitely recommend this product to others. The benefit of this product is a better listening experience than my television can offer. I feel like I'm in a movie theater but in my own home! This was really easy to connect to my tv. The bass is so good with the sound bar! I got this originally for my husband but I am lowkey enjoying it just as much with him!

I ended up using the OPTICAL input jack instead of the eARC HDMI connection because I have way too many devices and not enough HDMI ports-clearly, my TV didn't get the memo about my gadget addiction! I really appreciate the ease of setup for this soundbar - unpacking to working in maybe 5-10 minutes. The sound quality is amazing. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is mainly due to the instructions, or rather lack there of. The HDMI setup did not work with my tv - no sound would come out. In all fairness, I do have an older flatscreen that is not a smart tv. I did go out and purchase the optical cable to use it that way, but there is no section of the instructions on how this works. I have to mute my tv to use the soundbar, otherwise there is an awful echo. It is also incredibly difficult to turn the sound bar off. It's great for movie night, but that level of sound is a bit much for everyday use. Overall, I am very happy with the sound bar.

Overall, I was impressed with the Yamaha SR-B40A and more than happy to have this soundbar in my setup. What I liked the most was how easy it was to connect the soundbar to my TV, its fairly compact design, and the inclusion of Bluetooth. (Lately, not all soundbars come with this feature, and sometimes you just want to play something from your phone in the background.) But the absolute standout for me was the spatial depth of the sound. There's no need to mount multiple speakers around the room to enjoy immersive, surround-like audio that enhances your favorite movies. It's simply amazing! Of course, there are a few downsides. For example, I missed having an equalizer to fine-tune the sound for my favorite music bands. What really disappointed me, though, was the oddly outdated implementation of the front indicators on the soundbar. They're not very intuitive at first glance (although I've started getting used to them after a few days). Nowadays, most people are used to more precise digital displays that show text or numbers (like volume levels on a digital scale), rather than simple LED lights that illuminate in different combinations to indicate the current mode. Sometimes, the mode isn't clearly shown at all, which can be frustrating. That said, this soundbar delivers on its main promise - immersive surround sound - at 99%, and everything else is just personal preferences.

I have not personally owned a sound bar in the past, and what an incredible difference using this product vs the built in speakers on the tv! The sound quality is insane, we love the clear voice function, no more need for subtitles!! The bass makes every at home movie feel like an in theatre movie now. I highly recommend this product, can't compare it to others, but at a minimum it's significantly better than your built in speakers, trust me on that! I did receive this product for free in exchange for an honest review, and I honestly would pay for this sound bar at full price, it's that good!

If you're looking for a sys. that will give you a wow factor to your home entertainment, this one will certainly give you just that. Since setting up this Yamaha SR B40A in my living room, I'm putting the Bose 600 in a bedroom. Simply put, it's a Wow factor. I LOVE IT! FYI: "Make Sure" to install the correct model # for the app from Yamaha's site as this unit does not interchange w/ one another. After tweaking the sound adjustment I love it even more. Blue-tooth music sounds better in the game mode sound!

Sounds great but I can not get it to connect with my TV through the HDMI ARC. I have checked all the settings on the TV side. I also can not get the soundbar remote app to work. Lights flash on the soundbar when I try it out but the connection always fails.
