This is my first gimbal tripod head and so far I am impressed with how smooth it moves. I use it for both photos and videos of birds and it handles well. It is a bit hard to move the plate up and done but it does makes sense that it does - prevents it from slipping during use.

Good budget priced gimbal head. Sturdy, easy to set up and move camera. Only negative is a small dampening fluid leak which cleaned off with a little WD40 on a cloth.

I have never owned a gimbal. I wanted to try one before investing a good chunk of money. I read reviews about this unit and purchased based upon them. I mount a Nikon Z50 with a Nikkor 200-500mm zoom. I purchased a longer mounting plate separately which allowed for greater forward/back camera/lens movement in the gimbal cradle for proper balance. The gimbal I received has fluid movement and works great. I don't need to purchase a more expensive one.

The gimbal tripod head arrived in 4 days at no charge. A very quality piece of equipment. Easy to use and very smooth to operate. The gimbal handles my Nikon D850 with a 200-400 f4 lens. More than I expected for the cost. I have purchased numerous pieces of photographic equipment from Adorama and have always been well satisfied with the products, packaging, and people throughout the process.

Solid build but super stiff movements. Followed modification from sources and removed factory lubricants. Replaced with bearing grease and now it is useable. Heavy unit but able to use on a monopod with no issues.

I was surprised at how well built this gimbal is, based on the low price. I?ve used it twice so far for bird photography and it worked well and it?s movement is very smooth.

One downside is the stiff movement. But I disassembled it cleaned the sticky substance out with Citrol degreaser and rags. Packed it with grease and now much nicer. To get the main screws loose at top and bottom set the top or bottom in a pan of boiling water for 90 seconds. Use a hex key to turn the screws...warning they are on tight but the heat and brute force will take care of them the panning base screw is the toughest to remove.

This is a really good deal for the price. It moves smoothly and supports my DSLR with my 150 to 600 Sigma tele mounted. I could not ask for much more. The only reason I only gave it 4 stars is that it's a bit heavy.

Can't beat this item for the price. It's solid, yet is smooth in it's movement. I'd recommend this for anyone looking to have a separate mount on their tripod.

This gimbal is built like a tank it is heavy, but I know it will handle my 5Div and G2 lens. The price is also a great deal for anyone wanting to test the gimbal. This is my first purchased from Adorama and I am impressed with their shipping method of following the product until it landed at my house.

The YELANGU A17 gimbal may just be the sleeper of the tripod attachment alternatives for larger lenses! This is my first try at using a gimbal, in my case for the Nikon 200-500mm and it sets up very nice. It's very robust, nice feel.

Good budget gimbal. Has some give or flex if you set it under an unbalanced angle, like pointing at the moon, but doesn't drift if you crank it down. Gets the job done.

It's solid but moves like a fluid head. Some others in this price range works the same. There are videos online that shows how to improve movement by using different greese.

Better than my arms and/or a swinging monopod. I like it, especially the price, compared to the carbon fiber.

great product. there is a learning curve so as to get use to using a gimbal, but wants you learn when and how to use it properly you'll find that your photo's well greatly improve. i don't know how they do it at such at such a low price for a very good product, but i am totally happy.

Surprised, even shocked at how nice this gimbal is for the price. Will it hold up? Time will tell. From the get-go it feels very beefy and its action is smooth. I am using it on a monopod with a 150-600 sigma contemporary. So far , so good!

This is the best deal out there for a Gimbal; and, so far as I am concerned, is as good, if not better, than ones I see for eight times the cost. Everything about this Gimbal is rock solid and operation is as smooth as silk. There is one very minor detail that, had I have paid several hundred dollars, would be cause for a lesser rating; but, for less than a hundred bucks, and with the cure taking maybe a couple hours of your time, I still stand by my 5-star rating. The problem is notorious for many similar gimbals; there is some sort of mystery grease packed inside the workings that is stiff as a board when cold. If you never plan to use the gimbal in colder temperatures, you will never notice. In my 76* house, all movements were smooth and easy. I put it in the freezer for about an hour and I could hardly move it; it was as if the knobs were locked. I won't go into detail about removing the sticky goo and replacing it with something more suitable, as there are dozens of good videos describing the process on YouTube. I would recommend aerosol brake parts cleaner to clean out the goo and white lithium grease to replace it. Although I haven't tried it, Vaseline/petroleum jelly might be the best choice. Once you get the sticky goo replaced, with just a few minutes work, this will become a four hundred dollar gimbal. Be aware that there are several other gimbals that look similar to this one; look much more closely and you will see differences that make them inferior to this one. Right now, there are only two other models that appear to be identical to this one; the ANNSM GB-100A and the Koolehaoda YL-46, both priced for more than this one. The more recent version from Neewer looks very close, but the Neewer lacks the hex-head on the lower adjustment shaft. I am glad I went this route; I am well pleased.

So, I'll admit that while being a photographer for over 20 years now,, this is my first gimbal style head. I shoot mostly landscape but I wanted a gimbal for my occasional backyard birding. Since I never seek out birds or wildlife, I didn't want to break the bank and get a high end gimbal to start with since I don't see myself taking this in the field very often. Setup was easy, seems sturdy. Moves smoothly. The downside is, it's heavy. I'd say it weighs as much if not more than my carbon fiber tripod legs.alone. Weight doesn't usually bother me but it can be an issue for some, and I can see this being a problem for those that are concerned about weight, but for me using it to shoot birds from my back porch, it's perfect

It's not as smooth as a wimberly head but it is solid and locks in place and for the price I couldn't be happier. My only regret is the 1/4 inch insert was needed for my monopod and now it appears it is stuck in there for ever and my tripod has a 3/8 screw. If nothing else I can just buy another.

I bought this for use with my D750 and Sigma 150-600 Sport. I’m overall really happy with the quality. It’s a bit heavy, but it feels really sturdy. It was easy to balance and feels pretty smooth. I do wish the knobs gave a little more fine control, but for the price, this has been a great gimbal.

I absolutely love this. Best price I could find and it is built really well. I can't imagine that the expensive heads are much better. Reading some of the other reviews, some people thought the grease was too stiff, but don't worry about that. I like the light resistance that I felt when moving the head, I think it helps to keep it moving smoothly. One reviewer mentioned it had the wrong size screw for his gear and thought it was useless. He just didn't realize that the manufacturer was just trying to fit everyone's needs and put a bushing over the standard size screw. All he had to do was unscrew the bushing and he would have found the screw that did fit his gear. There are some items that do use the larger bushing. So don't worry that it won't fit your tripod or camera. It is so nice to find something so reasonably priced and still very high quality.
