Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?Thomas L : I have a medium to large size DJ business and I've been stunning my audiences with the amount of bass I have. I already have 1 Yamaha SW218V accompanied by by 4 JBL JRX125's. This should take my performances to a new tier of fun and excitement.

Great value but minor design flaws

This is a great sub, especially in pairs. The only negative aspects are that it is next to impossible to carry because of the handle position. If you carry them upside down, it is much easier, but uncomfortable on the hands. Also, the rubber feet vibrate loose and fall off/get lost easily.

About Yamaha Dual 18"" 2400-Watt

The Yamaha Dual 18" 2400-Watt Passive P.A. Subwoofer is a moderately priced, passive 1220-watt P.A. subwoofer with dual 18" cast frame drivers housed in a rugged, industrial carpet-covered particle board enclosure with a unique folded-baffle design and a steel mesh speaker grille. The driver offers a peak power handling capacity of 2400 watts and the front-ported Bass reflex design enables low end frequency reproduction down to 30 Hz.

The SW218V is equipped with high quality Neutrik Speakon and Switchcraft 1/4" connectors, an integral pole socket mounted at the top of the cabinet for mounting a main speaker and all-steel recessed carrying handles on the side for convenient transportation.

The SW218V is recommended as a small event P.A. subwoofer, for club dates, weddings and other party events, where the music requires a fuller and more prominent low end output from the system.
