I have now had two Yamaha YDP 142 pianos in my home, both of which have had to be returned because one of the keys suddenly began to play extremely loudly no matter how softly the key was pressed. The notes that were defective were different on each model, the first one developed after about 4 months, the second after just 10 days! I have now had the inconvenience of disassembling and returning two very heavy pianos. This kind of problem is completely unacceptable, and that it should have happened on both the pianos I have received tells me that this was not an isolated case. The only way I could play the piano was to turn the weighting off, then the key played the same as the others. It happened on all the voices that use the weighting feature. I am giving Yamaha one more chance by purchasing the higher S51 model, but if this does the same thing I shall be MOST UNHAPPY.
