RODOLFO B : Is this type of light better than traditional flash? aned how will it make my pictures look better that using flash?JAE THOMAS S : A flash is a better source of light than a macro ring. A macro ring is suitable for small product photos, but a flash is all around a better light.GREGORY B : I use it for macro. Ergonomically its much more convenient to use than traditional flashes. I find the light pleasing, but others have noted that it tends to produce flat, low contrast images. I don't find that a particular concern, but I'm not a professional. The brightness of the left and right halves can be varied, so you can obtain some shadows and textures depending upon your subject, though subtle. I've been pleased with mine. If you purchase, you may wish to buy a backup battery compartment door. I have yet to have a problem, but others have complained that it is fragile and easily broken.Piotr S : Don't buy anything from this website, they will send you spam emails!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Celia A : My purpose for this flash is Macro photography, however I did read that can be used for portraits as well. Shopper : Does the battery door still pop open? I bought this in 2015 and the battery door for the last two years won't stay shut. I've even replaced the door, but no luck. Has this problem been addressed?

Love it!

Love my new ring flash that I use for portraits and recommend this product. It does not have a high speed sync setting but beats paying $ for the Canon model.

New to macro photography...

Just starting to play with macro photography and didn't want to break the bank before finding out if I even care for it. That being said...I'd buy this again even if I knew macro was for me. The quality is absolutely great, the price for the product is so low you might think you're ordering a toy. It is not a toy. This is the real deal...

Great overall product for macro Photography.

Great overall product for macro Photography. TTL on it is a hit or miss, but true Photographers will not miss this feature. Setup is a quick, just screw in a step up ring and slide onto the flash. Great bright diffused light at a fraction of the price.

Good ring light

Not built as well as a Canon ring light but for the money it's damned good. Don't mind a little lesser quality when the price is drastically cheaper for a product that is not going to be used too often. But when I need it it will do the job just fine.

With pro-level capabilities, and a control interface that's accessible even if you're just beginning to explore flash photography, this light kit is a great addition to your gear bag.

The light mounts on a camera in two places--on the front of the lens, and on the hotshoe mount. The light itself produces light at a natural color temperature of 5600K and can be adapted to mount on lenses that are 52, 58, 67, and 72mm in diameter. It features a twin-tube design that allows the photographer to set each side of the ring at different power ratios, which can enable the higher contrast you need in macro photography. It also has LED lamps for autofocus-assist in low-light situations. With a charge recycle time of only 3 to 5 seconds, first- and second-curtain sync modes, and a guide number of 45.9' at ISO 100, this flash will have your macro needs covered.

The hotshoe component of the flash unit is where the control interface is located, with an LCD screen to show settings and readings and push-button controls to control flash mode, power ratios, and exposure compensation. The controls can also emit audio feedback and alerts so you can keep your eyes on the shot while staying aware of what the flash readings are.
