I have used Nikon 14-24 2.8, Nikon's 14mm 2.8D, Samyang/rokinon 14mm 2.8. 
While this lens doesnt come close to the af performance of the 14-24 nikkor, its better than the 14mm 2.8D.

It has less distortion than samyang/rokinon and for half to third price of other AF lenses in this focal range, I am happy with my purchase. IQ is excellent and becomes amazingly good at F4.

AF sounds like R2D2 got filled w gravel and is freaking out while falling down a stairwell.

Pros: Little distortion, fast-ish AF, accurate AF on my 800s and 750s, metal hood, small footprint, image quality is on par w others in the market.

Cons: Heavy!, AF hunts a lil, noisy AF(see R2D2 comment), soft in the corners at 2.8 but thats most lenses.

I would recommend this lens if you need a prime for discount, and need the AF for moving subjects. If you shoot only landscape, Id forgo this option and get the Samyang.
