I bought this product to help complete my rig. In addition to adding mounting options to your camera it helps stabilize the c100 top handle and allows you to slide it forward and back.

If you're in the studio and have a ton of items to attach to your C100 Mii then this is handy. Otherwise, you don't need it. There is one useful thing about it, it allow you to attach the handle and then slide it forward or backward. but you're still limited by the length of the cable needed to plug audio into the C100 body. It also adds more weight to your camera.

The C100 Mark II Helmet package includes the C100 Mark II Helmet, a 5" Z-rail with a 15mm rod lock at the end and a double jawed Z-rail lock. The purpose of this helmet is to strengthen the mount of the supplied camera handle. The Helmet attaches to the top of the camera body via one screw on top and one on the side, relocating the film plane screw on the left side of the camera. This prevents the helmet from twisting. The Helmet has many extra 1/4 20 mounting screw holes.
The Z-rail screws to the top of the Helmet, giving you a rod lock to mount the Axis Mini or other 15mm accessories. Zacuto double sided Z-Rail jaws allow you to attach the Canon top handle securely to the Z-Rail, giving you a rock solid connection to the camera with no wiggly movement. Zacuto have eliminated the need for the cumbersome round locking screw and strengthened it by clamping to the side walls of the cold shoe itself. The mount and the rod lock each use a lever for quick release capability. Once installed adjusting the handle forward or back for balance or removal of the handle is just a half turn of the lever.
