I have been shooting with the Z-Finder Jr for a couple days now. I use a Sony A7RII and a 5DMKIV for stills and video purposes. What I love about the Z-Finder is its effectiveness outdoors during daylight shoots. When shooting on manual focus this is the perfect tool to check critical focus. Not only does it give a great point of contact with your eye, for steadiness purposes, but being able to really dial in the focus in a run and gun setup is really where this product shines. The supplied frame definitely works better on a fixed, non articulating LCD screen. Since the Sony A7RII has a screen that articulates, my 5DMKIV was better suited for the normal Z-Finder Jr frame. In chatting with Zacuto it seems that they have other frame solutions for the A7 series cameras that are not supplied with this kit. (Solutions under $10) I would like to be able to swap the frame between cameras, but because of the adhesive material used on the supplied frame, it is best to have multiple frames for multiple cameras. The adhesive sickness is pretty much done after one application. Thanks Zacuto for making yet another great product!

Shooting in the studio or on set affords us the opportunity to utilize large, high-resolution computer monitors and all kinds of image-checking software tools to ensure we're getting the shots we intended. But when you're out in the field - especially when shooting handheld with just your DSLR and a couple of lenses - you have to get back to basics and pay closer attention to what your eye tells you, using a tiny viewfinder or often hard-to-see LCD screen. This is made a bit easier with the Zacuto Z-Finder products. I recently added the Z-Finder Jr. to my camera tool bag for use with my Nikon D800 and Nikon D3400; both with a rear viewing screen that accepts the Zacuto 3.2-inch mounting frame. Installation is pretty straight-forward: you affix an adhesive-lined mounting frame to your DSLR's LCD screen - a process I tend to always have trouble achieving with any precision - which then allows you to [carefully] attach one or more extender frames (to optimize focus distance) and the Z-Finder unit. The end result is the addition of a large, light-shielded viewfinder for your LCD screen that allows you to see your live view, camera settings and photo playback at 2.5 times the original size and with a clarity not possible using any other method. The Z-Finder Jr. is well-designed and executed, feeling sturdy and solidly-attached once installed properly. The eyecup fits my eye just about perfectly and the materials used are comfortable and feature a texture and pliability that are well-suited for run-and-gun shooting. By attaching mounting frames on multiple camera LCD screens, you can swap the Z-Finder Jr. from camera to camera. It's a little bit tricky to remove the Z-Finder unit and the extender frames from your camera's screen; you may need to use one hand to secure your LCD when pulling off the Z-Finder. The entire unit extends off the back of your camera about 5 or 6 inches so most users probably won't have room in their case or bag to keep it attached. I imagine the unit will become easier to attach and remove with continued use. The Z-Finder Jr. successfully accomplishes what it was designed to do, which is provide a much better viewing experience of your DSLR's LCD screen, especially in bright sunlight. If you find yourself having difficulty using live view, reviewing images or quickly changing camera settings, the Z-Finder Jr. may be just what solves these problems.

This is a really nice quality product. It only lacks in accessories. It showed a mount that screws into the cameras tripod socket, but does not come with it and it does not look like an accessory that can be easily obtained. They do give you mounting tape for an adapter that you leave mounted on your camera, which without another adapter, you are stuck to the one camera with the adapter mount, where the tripod camera mount adapter would allow you to use on other cameras. It also needs bellow extensions if the focus needs to be adjusted more than what it allows, which is the case for me, so I will have to purchase those.

It will not fit on cameras that are the higher Pro SLRs like the Nikon D4s. You will have to hand hold it.

it is very good for preview your pictures under the sun-light outdoor from your camera LCD screen. also very good for using manual lens while focus on your subject on F1.4 or 2.0.

I can now see everything without the need of a big monitor. Great for video mode.

The Z-Finder Jr. is one of Zacuto's Optical Viewfinders that allows DSLR cameras to have the correct form factor for video. It offers 2.5x focusable magnification, a 40mm diameter Zacuto optical designed lens, an eyecup preventing extraneous light leakage and a field of view perfectly matched to 3" LCD screens. The Z-Finder Jr. does not have a diopter instead it uses Z-Finder Extender Frames to adjust the focal point. The Z-Finder Jr's focal point is -2.75 and up (unlimited with extender frames).
The Z-Finder Jr. mounts to your camera via a supplied adhesive mounting frame that attaches to your camera's 3.0" LCD screen. This attachment method does not require the use of an additional base plate, and permits easy installation and removal of the finder from the camera. Once detached, the unit can hang conveniently around your neck using the included lanyard.
Please Note: the'Jr Mounting Bracket' listed in the instruction manual is not included with this product.
