Review Summary
The Zacuto Z-LSHK-CGR Zgrips V3 with C100/C300/C500 Grip Relocator comes with a C100/C300/C500 Grip Relocator in place of the second handle on the Zgrips V3. What is the Zgrips V3 and what is the Relocator?
Zgrips is the upside-down V you see in the photo above, with each side of the V a 15mm rod. The V connects to the front of a full Zacuto rig to serve as handle-bars for the rig and to allow distance-extended, chest-level handling of the rig. Normally, Zgrips comes with two articulating handles at the ends of the V, but in this case, one of the handles is the Relocator.
The Relocator is an accessory that lets you use Canon's C100/C300/C500 Grip on the Zgrips, from farther than normally possible. The C100/C300/C500 Grip is a button-equipped hand controller that comes with the C100/C300/C500 cinema camera. It lets you control the camera's functions. In use with the Zgrips and the Relocator, the C100/C300/C500 Grip attaches onto the side of the Relocator and a 24" cable that's already built into the Relocator will snake up a rod of the Zgrips and will connect to the C100/C300/C500 camera. (The C100/C300/C500 Grip's native cable connects into the Relocator.)
Just like the native handles of the Zgrips V3, the Relocator is also fully articulating until locked in by lever.
