This baseplate is really good. It is super lightweight, yet strong and you feel the quality when you hold it. The quick release is well designed. Very easy to use. All the locking and adjusting mechanisms work great and are solidly built.

I’m using this with the 6K BMPCC Cage, and it works perfectly to get the camera to the right height for a standard follow focus and matte box. And it's extremely lightweight! I’m really happy with Zacuto’s switch to the Arca-Swiss standard attachment plate. Now everything in my kit fits everything else. I can quickly switch from just the camera cage on my crane or slider, to the matte box and follow focus rig already built on this Polaris Baseplate and quickly attach it to any of my tripods. Such a huge time saver! The only thing I’m questioning is the design of the spin-knob that locks the baseplate. It’s a little hard to get used to and doesn’t always stay very secure / tight.

I knew I needed a solid cage and rails when I purchased the BMPCC4K, so I got the Zacuto cage and the Polaris baseplate. These two work together perfect and are the perfect solution for my rig. The polaris baseplate provides a solid, quality construction that Zacuto is known for and rails for mounting follow focus, matte box, and a gold-mount battery on the back. Basically completes the rig to function as a complete cinema camera package.

The baseplate is easy to use, quick to change, and sturdy. I used it with the XT3 and switching the unit from shoulder mounted mode to tripod was a breeze. It's an ideal choice when sticking to DSLRs because honestly the 501 Manfrottos weren't designed for DSLRs. The Polaris obviously is.

This baseplate works perfectly with my BMPCC 4K and Ronin-S. I just use an offset mount because of the BMPCC 4K’s width. It’s lightweight, stable, easy to use/remove the arca-swiss style of camera plate. The build quality is solid and this unit seems built to last forever. Overall, I highly recommend this baseplate.

Literally the best product to date I ever had from Zacuto. In general, I like to get their products as they made locally (US not China) and come with a good level of quality. Polaris is my favorite so far due to its practicality and simple use.
