Zacuto Z-Finder Recoil Pro V2 Rig for Sony FS5/FS5 II Camera

The Sony FS5 Z-Finder Recoil Pro V2 is a shoulder rig designed specifically for the Sony FS5 camera. This is a Next Generation Recoil rig designed for optimal balance and comfort when shoulder mounted or on a tripod. With lenses and cameras being similar weights, the balance point is where the lens meets the camera body. In a shoulder mount rig, the balance point needs to be directly over your shoulder which puts the camera behind you. The Recoil rig adjusts for that balance point and relocates focus, monitoring and camera controls forward, creating a lighter, shorter and properly balanced rig. The Sony FS5 Z-Finder Recoil Pro V2 shoulder-mounted rig includes our VCT Pro baseplate, the Rosette Trigger Grip to relocate the Sony FS5 handgrip, a 13.5" LANC extension cable, the FS5 Top Plate and FS5 Z-finder.

VCT Pro Baseplate
The VCT Pro baseplate is compatible with all cameras including Canon EOS C-series, Sony FS5/FS5 Mark II and FS7/FS7 Mark II, AJA CION, BlackMagic, Panasonic EVA1, Panasonic Varicam LT, RED cameras, Arri Alexa and Amira, DSLRs, Mirrorless and more The VCT Pro has a built-in, curved shoulder pad and an Arri M6 rosette for accessories and grips. It comes with quick-release, extendable 6.5" rods at the front and lightweight spaced quick-release rod ports at the back. The v-wedge tripod connector is compatible with VCT14 tripod adapter plates or use the 1/4 20 and 3/8 16 screw holes for direct connect to your tripod quick release plate.

The red sliding top plate offers easy adjust-ability for lens changes, removing your camera and balancing your rig correctly on your shoulder. This sliding plate combined with a double screw track offers 10" of camera balance sliding range. You can quickly release your camera from the rig by sliding the red plate completely off and using our VCT Pro Dock to quickly transition it to a tripod, slider, etc. The lightweight, adjustable rod mount is set far back in the plate, offering plenty of accessory-capable area under the camera lens. This allows you to position your camera further back on the plate, keeping the balance point of your rig directly over your shoulder. The sliding track of the rod riser offers 25mm of vertical adjustment.

The shoulder pad portion of the VCT Universal is set as far forward on the plate as possible, also to maximize your accessory capable rod area and aid with balance. The VCT Universal Baseplate is the core of our Next Generation Recoil rigs, designed for balance and comfort for every camera. Keeping the camera low prevents already tall cameras from being too top heavy. With our VCT, the distance from the bottom of your camera to your shoulder is just 3/4 inch.

Sony FS5 Trigger Grip
The Sony FS5 Trigger Grip is a single handgrip that relocates the Sony FS5 camera grip to a comfortable hand grip position for shoulder rigs. The Trigger Grip attaches to an M6 Rosette, such as the rosette on the side of our VCT Pro. Our trigger grips are the most adjustable grips available. They allow for single-handed 360deg. rotation with the simple press of a trigger. The two handles rotate independently of each other. Flip them down for a low, rock-solid handgrip. Raise it up for more of an Aaton style position. Or quickly flip them both all the way up to set your camera flat on the ground or for storing in a case. Or stagger them if that is more comfortable to you. The length of the handgrips can also adjust by loosening a red lever and pulling the grip out or pushing in.

FS5 Top Plate
The FS5 and FS5 Mark II Top Plate includes a plate to attach to the top of the FS5 which fits around the Sony top handle and a 15mm side facing rod lock. This rod lock allows you to attach any 15mm rod accessory, such as the Axis Mini or a Zacuto Zamerican Arm. The FS5 Top Plate also includes a 3" black 15mm F/F rod. You can use this rod to mount the LCD of the FS5 when using the Zacuto Z-Finder, instead of using the Sony adapter. There are five 1/4 20 screw holes and one 3/8 16 screw hole on each side of the camera top handle. Custom screw holes are also included to relocate the Sony cable holder and film plane marker.

FS5 Z-Finder
The Zacuto FS5 Z-Finder is specifically designed to suit the shape and size of the monitor included with the Sony FS5 and FS5 Mark II. The FS5 Z-Finder comes with a flip up frame designed to slide onto the FS5 LCD and lock securely in place. The Zacuto Z-Finder will pop on and off the frame for quick shooting. The red lever at the bottom of the frame allows you to quickly flip the Z-Finder up without removing it from the frame. If a producer/client/director etc. wants to see into the viewfinder, you can flip it open instead of having to adjust so they can get their eye to the loupe. You can also pop off the Z-Finder and use the FS5 LCD as a monitor.

This Z-finder will magnify the LCD screen by 2x and has a diopter for specific focus tuning. It cuts out any extraneous light and offers an initial point of stability by pressing your eye against our comfy, large eyecup. The FS5 Z-finder comes with a 40mm diameter Zacuto optical designed lens, anti-fog coated protective covers and the mounting system designed specifically for the FS5 LCD. The diopter allows you to dial in the focus to match your eye. If you need extra focal points you can use the included Z-Finder Extender Frames. These are semi-permanent stackable frames that attach to the body of the Z-Finder and extend the Z-Finder glass further away from the LCD screen for people who are farsighted. The diopter range with the included lens and extender frames is -4.0 to 0.0.

If you need more adjustment than the Extender Frames provide, you can add drop in diopters for further diopter adjustment. The interchangeable anti-fog glass diopters, -1, +1, +2, +3 and +4, correct the focus to your vision for perfect clarity. An aluminum sun mask is built in to the Z-Finder to protect your LCD screen from sunlight. Drop in diopters install underneath this aluminum sun mask. The included FS5 Mounting Bracket mounts the Z-Finder in place for shoulder mounted shooting. This includes a locking lever which screws into the flip frame to hold the LCD securely in place. The Mounting Bracket attaches to either the Sony adapter or any 15mm rod. You can attach a 15mm rod to the top of the camera by getting the FS5 Top Plate . Alternately, you can get the Axis Mini for FS5 which allows for a wider range of adjustment.
