Just a good recorder.

Does everything I got it for. It does feel fragile so, handle with care. No 2gb card included and no budget AA batteries to start with. Also no Cubase LE or Wavelab LE included.

Good at first, buzzing and feedback loop when plugging in headphones

This field recorder is versatile, great at recording ambient space around with the 4 channel mic and voice over with the xy and mid side options. The low cut is great at eliminating rumble from wind noise, and the pre record function has saved some recordings. I don't have a protective case for it, so it may be different with a pelican case, but the mic isn't as durable. Within a year of use I started hearing buzzing in the recording from 1k and up, which was a pain until I bought RX8 to clean it up.

This is a good alternative to the newer models from Zoom if you are willing to live without separate outputs to LINE and Headphones.

I would recommend the Zoom H2N for most recording jobs. This little unit recorded me, perfectly. nice range of sounds, great pick up in the room, and was easy to use, even for me.

Great little recorder

I use the Zoom H2N to record narration for a web slideshow as well as record various ambient sounds/dialogue for video. So far, the Zoom H2N has surpassed my expectations. I really like the different recording modes (XY/MS/4ch/2ch) and the easy menu operation. Sound quality is very good (certainly good enough for my uses).

The APH-2N Accessory Package for H2N Handy Recorder from Zoom is a collection of accessories designed to enhance the functionality of the H2n Handy Recorder. It includes a wired remote with an extension cable that allows you to start, stop and pause recordings and add marks. It also prevents handling noise for clean recordings.

The package also includes a foam windscreen to reduce the effects of wind and breath noise, a USB AC adapter and USB cable for convenient powering, an adjustable desktop tripod stand, a padded carrying case and a mic clip adapter so you can mount the recorder on a standard microphone stand.
