The good: It did something very few other devices offer right now, at this price level. The bad: it’s driver crashed my machine, badly. It’s audio port mapping to the computer was confusing, and I ultimately had to use another piece of software to make sense of it.

Iv had a the zoom l8 for a month and it does just as advertised! No issues with it at all, currently using it in my livestream setup. Plan on using for the podcast I’m starting as well. I’m sure it will be up to that task. Originally wanted the Rodecaster pro with it not being in stock and me not wanting to wait I picked the Zoom L8 definitely a nice alternative.

I have used the Peavey Unity Series mixers for the last 20+ years for video production primarily because they produce very little line noise. So I was a little apprehensive switching brands when it was time for an upgrade. WOW... not only does the L-8 LiveTrak produce almost no line noise whatsoever, but the sound quality is rich and full. These guys really did their homework when they designed this one. The SD recording feature decreased my workflow and increased my productivity.

We've been using a ZOOM H4N for our podcasting, but have quickly grown into needed more inputs and more control. We have recorded two podcasts with the L-8 and loving it! It's a beast of a board in such a small package.
