I love my new binoculars, so much better than my old ones. I am getting such a close look at all the features of birds and so much better for identifying. I can't wait for the local Audubon Bird Count May 12 to use them.

I'm a professional photographer and outdoors-man. Ordered these nocs and compared to Minox HG, Vortex Razor, and Cabela's Outfitter series. Zeiss won hands down. Sharpest in the bunch, by far! Solid feel (although heaviest). Great color. Excellent ergonomics.

Love the image quality, brightness, and quality of build. Probably the best in this price range. I own two. One of them has some construction issue: some o-ring in the eye cup came out of inside of the assembly just 6 months into very gentle and occasional use. Procrastinated for about a year before sending it back to Zeiss. I had to pay for shipping. They offer to replace it. I had to go on a birding trip, so they overnight a new pair to me with no extra costs. One nip picking con: The objective lens cover doesn't stay on, so I bought my own from other brand that cups each lens individually, works well after that. The neck strap is very comfortable for this style of strap. I eventually replaced it with the dual shoulder straps though as I'm typically carrying at least one DLSR with a big long lens on me, so moving the weights off my neck is very importnat.

Compared both binoculars before I make a purchase. I have had Nikon binoculars for years including the Nikon Execulite 9x30 and the Nikon Execulite 12x36. I have also owned the Nikon Monarch in 8x42. Overall, I prefer the Zeiss Terra the coatings on the binoculars are phenominal! Very clear and sharp and hard to beat for the price. Plus it's a Zeiss . . .

For the price, you can get a cheap Zeiss. But for quality, the Nikon Monarch is better. The lens is clear and crisp, wide enough yet not widest, not the brightest one I've ever tried, maybe because it lacks T* coating. Build quality is good, in some point better than Germany HD. Packaging is interesting. Including free porch (Need to pay $ for shipping). By and large, nice try Zeiss!
