Bill N : The last adapter of this type I bought put out 4 vdc at 1.5 setting and a whopping 21.1 vdc at 12 volt setting. Will this one do the same or does it actually do what you advertise, and give me 1.5 volts when that's what I want?Jeffrey O : I set the volt setting to the required amount for my LED light and haven’t had any issues.

We bought them for a particular need in Africa. Since it is a 12v converter, I would doubt that it had a 9 volt battery tip.
Ryan F : I picked this adapter up to power my Flashpoint 312 LED light but I don't know how to decide which tip and settings to use. The light has DC7.4~14.8V written next to the power port. Also, the light & adapter polarities look a bit different. Would you be able to help?THOMAS R : I can't totally answer the question, as I was never sure I found the right settings. The combination that seemed to make the light work best resulted in the adapter getting so hot it melted the paint on the surface it was laying on. It could have been a fire hazard had it been in contact with something besides a painted drywall windowseat. After that I stopped using it and bought a different adapter, which worked fine. (Should have returned the first one but never got around to doing that.) All I can say for sure is be careful how and where you use it. Sorry I can't answer with specific settings, but in the interest of safety I decided to pass this info on...JANE H : I just kept trying the tips until I found the right one to fit. However, I bought it to power a weather radio from LLBean and it doesn't seem to charge it up the way I thought it would. The red light on the charger never goes off and it didn't seem to really charge the radio to last even a few hours without the charger in. I had returned one thinking the charger was defective but this one isn't really any different so I guess it just doesn't charge the radio up like it should.TIM G : I wish I could help with your question, but I bought this adapter for a nephew and so I don't know much about it. He needed it for a project he was doing. He did say that it worked fine and was less expensive than others out there.

Lots of advantages to this little adapter

I use it to power my on-camera light. It can dial in various voltages. It’s a reliable and inexpensive alternative to Sony NP-camera batteries (570s or larger, which sometimes are clunky and heavy and put pressure on the camera shoe holding the light). I sometimes want a light for interviews outdoors, but Indoors where electricity is available, I can plug In and not have to wonder if I’ve got enough juice if the shot runs long.
