Great lens so far on a Nikon D7200. The wide angle and fast glass make it my go-to lens for low light city photography. It's quality is like a 20mm prime, but with a bonus 6mm of flexibility for framing. On the larger/heavier/louder AF side of lenses due to very solid build quality.

I haven`t got a chance to use the product yet except for a few test shots. However, the overall process to purchase, shipping and handling, timelines were all quick and seamless. I have plans to purchase more camera gear, and Adorama would definitely be my preference.

I bought this for my Canon 80d. Particularly for night sky photos, MilkyWay etc. I like having a wide lens and f2.0 makes it sweeter! So far I'm liking this lens. The sliding manual focus ring takes a little to get used to and get locked in but not a deal breaker, I was aware of that from other reviews. It is heavier than I expected, even though I read it was heavy. It does what I expected (hoped) and for less than $400 I love it!

Sharp ultrawide zoom with a fast f/2.0 aperture. Excellent for landscapes & night sky photography. Takes filters. No notable cons in my opinion.

I purchased this lens last minute before a trip to capture some beautiful landscapes on the East coast. I am very happy with this lens. Paired with my Nikon camera body, it was easy to handle for handheld shots and lens weight was not an issue for me. This lens will be my go to lens for night photography as well.

I bought this lens for my Nikon d750 camera. Initially I was bit concerned about DX format and a lens which is not from Nikon, after taking pictures I got stunned with its performance and impressed with the pictures. It captures beautiful images at low light, the wide angle is amazing and must explore much with this lens. It is very economical, and it is worth a buy so far…

This was a back and forth debate , it paid off . It is a amazingly sharp wide angle lens . It boasts f2 across the entire zoom but it's soft until f2.4-2.8 range . I am supremely happy with color reproduction.

Was on the fence about getting a "good " copy and the issues most people say about this but this lens blows away clarity on any other lens I have . Only complaint is it is stated to be a f2 lens throughout the zoom range but it seems soft at f2 and dosent really level out till f 2.2 to f2.8 depending on lighting use ...still very useable

Excellent wide angle zoom, I use it on my D500 for landscape. I enlarged landscape prints to 23" wide, printed on my Stylus Pro 7800. Absolutely lovely images. Good detail and contrast, lovely colours.

Build quality is really good, well built. Autofocus is not up to par as it seems. It's slow and has issues trying to stay focus, that is my biggest issue. Great for indoor big group pictures, very low light situations, and landscape art. These are my biggest purpose for this lens. Pictures are very sharp and clear. Over all I am satisfied with my purchase.

So far, it's exactly what I signed up for: an excellent wide angle lens for my APS-C sensor (D500). Yes, it flares up pretty easily, although that can be controlled in a lot of cases. Yes, it's heavy (which I personally enjoy). And yes, the AF/MF clutch is a little annoying (could be worse). But, when I looked at the first few pics I took, I didn't care about any of this. It's sharp at all apertures, and it's corner rendering is the best of any lens I own. It's color rendition and contrast are equally excellent. If you're upgrading from any of the kit lenses you bought with your camera, you will notice the different immediately. There's a reason Tokina is seen as the king of the wide-angle. This will show you why experienced photographers say "it's all about the glass."

The lens is excellent. I had select Tokina lenses during the past few decades and they never disappointed me. This one seems like their winner in the wide angle DX zoom selection. I use it on my D500, images are clear, contrast is great, aberrations are well corrected. The free gadgets supplied with the lens are OK. Some, like the filter kit and lens cleaning supplies, are usable. Others are already in the back corner of my collection of extra stuff drawer.

I was focusing on Nikon only equipment but did not want to drop $1,800 on a nice wide angle or prime. I took a chance on this and I am very happy. Super sharp. Fast, accurate, saturated colors, great solid build. I can't say enough good things about this lens. If you are on the fence, go for it. I am super happy.

Mainly purchased this lens for shooting night sky photography. I would highly recommend this lens for this purpose. Was amazed at the increase light flexibility I now have for night shooting. Only downside I have seen is in the switching between manual and auto focus. There is a slight movement in the focus when switching but I had read about this in advance.

It is mounted on my Nikon D7100 this lens has produced some really good images in terms of sharpness and rendering. It has good optical qualities. In several ways this Tokina iteration is better than the 11-20 and I'd recommend any interested persons to check on some available professional reviews.

I've just had the lens a few weeks, but I've already used it in a wedding. I love the fast, constant aperture at f/2. The AF is a little slow, but as a wide angle it doesn't need to be super fast. A bit on the heavy side, but that's the same with any fast lens. If you get close enough to the subject, you can get a narrow depth of field. The focus ring is nice and smooth, with good travel for video. I haven't decided yet if I like the clutch mechanism, but I do like the fact that you can't accidentally change the focus when in auto. Overall a great lens, and I haven't yet seen anything to not recommend it.

Very sharp lens

The Tokina AT-X 14-20mm f/2 PRO DX is the fastest aperture super-wide angle zoom lens based on the new Tokina concept of a "zoomable prime lens". This idea fuses the quality of a prime lens, the convenience of a short zoom and a fast aperture.
The AT-X 14-20 F2 PRO DX accommodates all types of wide-angle needs from a dynamic, 21mm (35mm equivalent) wide angle of view with excellent depth of field to a 30mm angle of view ideal for quick snapshots. The AT-X 14-20 F2 PRO DX is designed to provide exceptional optical performance equal to three prime lenses: 21mm, 24mm and 28mm (35mm equivalent) in just one single zoom lens.
Imagine using this lens to shoot the beautiful colored bands of the Aurora at night. With a fast aperture you can snap some of these photos and move around without a tripod. For long exposures at night, the wider aperture allows more light, almost twice as much as an f/2.8 lens, to reach the sensor. The light from each star will certainly reach every pixel of the camera sensor improving astrophotography.
While providing impressive sharpness and contrast equal to the quality of a prime lens, the AT-X 14-20 F2 PRO DX is capable of zooming between the focal length of 14mm and 20mm. This convenience comes in particularly handy while framing to achieve the desired composition. AT-X 14-20 F2 PRO DX is the solution when you want the optical advantages of the prime lens but the flexibility of a zoom.
Being a fast aperture ultra-wide angle zoom lens, the AT-X 14-20 F2 PRO DX yields high image quality that is comparable to a prime lens. To achieve this, the AT-X 14-20 F2 PRO DX incorporates two Super-Low dispersion (SD) aspherical elements in the rear group, one large molded aspherical element in front group to correct spherical aberrations and two Super-Low dispersion molded elements that effectively correct distortion, chromatic aberrations and astigmatism.
Ghosting and flare-resistance was enhanced by repeatedly running computer aided ghosting simulations and analyzing the data. This meticulous testing led to precisely reshaping and optimizing the surface of the G02 front aspherical element to reduce reflections to an absolute minimum.
Thanks to its fast f/2 aperture the AT-X 14-20 F2 PRO DX creates strong background blur even at 14mm. 9 rounded and extremely thin, 40μm, metallic blades are used for the circular diaphragm that has a significant effect on bokeh quality. Special processing is applied to the surface of the diaphragm blades to prevent optical reflections and to reduce the sliding friction between blades.
The AT-X 14-20 F2 PRO DX uses all-metal lens barrels designed for optical performance and reliability. Tokina understands that the precise position and orientation of each lens element relative to the light axis is directly related to optical performance. Metal materials with sufficient thickness and strength are used for all load-bearing components and each part is produced using high-precision machining. This allows Tokina to maintain high optical performance, unaffected by harsh environmental changes and long-term use. The lens is weather-sealed by rubber gasket around the mount base.
The AT-X 14-20 F2 PRO DX uses a newly developed Silent Drive module that allows the lens to focus faster and more quietly than previous generations. This DC motor coupled with a new GMR magnetic AF sensor work together to increase AF speed and accuracy.
The lens uses common sized 82mm size filters. These filters can be used with lenses that take smaller filter sizes by using a step up ring.
Tokina's exclusive One-Touch Focus Clutch Mechanism allows the photographer to switch between AF and MF simply by snapping the focus ring forward for AF and back toward the lens mount for manual focusing.
