Take & Make Great Photography with Gavin Hoey—AdoramaTV

By

Gavin Hoey takes two self-portraits using identical lighting for one shot done all in camera, and another with a background added in Photoshop.

After shooting a low-key self-portrait portrait on a black background, Gavin switches to using a white background for easier Photoshop editing that gives a completely different look despite identical lighting. In this video prepared exclusively for Adorama, follow Gavin into Adobe Photoshop CS6 where he demonstrates just how easy it is to change the grey background for something a little more dramatic, get a quick tutorial about Photoshop's very useful Refine Edge feature, and check out his clever way to focus on a subject, when you're shooting a studio self-portrait.
