Questions & Answers

Shopper : how many yards back to get a close up...head and top of shoulders?NORMAN T : Three to four yards is sufficent for a good close up this camera works well with close-up work. I have found this camera to be one of the best cameras in it's price range.
Shopper : Can u change the lenses on this? for example can you put a fish eye on it?ALVARO G A : You can't exchange lens but you do can put a fish eyeVISHAL D : You cannot - this is a fixed lense - please goto Sony website for more information.
Dianne G : How does this camera compare to the Sony Z5. Where would it fall short?ALVARO G A : The z5 has a better lens, it has 3 rings for more control, and you can shoot in 24p, etc. The 1000u is a good camera with just the basic stuff for a professional on a budget, it gets the job done , but if you're looking for more and better the z5 is the way to go.

Great Buy

This is a great camera depending on your needs. No it's not a professional camera but if you use it for events, weddings, documentries, parties and the same you can't go wrong. As for as price you can't beat the price for it's range. The controls are easy to access and work. If you don't have any video camera exsperience then it may seem a little intimidating and you might try a smaller camera instead. But if you do have prior knowledge of video cameras then you will have fun with this camera right out of the box. Remember you get what you pay for and some cameras are cheaper and some are more exspensive. Don't buy a $1500.00 camera and expect it to perform and have all the features of a $10.000.00 camera the reason I say this is because I always read about some customers complaining about what was'nt on the camera after they got it home. READ THE SPECS and you won't be so-called surprised.

"High quality video...even in low-light"

Shooting from the shoulder provides stability & is sufficiently comfortable for long durations. I purchased this camcorder after much research & experience with other cameras...I don't think you can beat the value.
