DENNIS F : Recommended quick release adapter base?VIC T : Great Product!BURKE T : I have it mounted on an old Slik tripod. I don't use the levels very often but I have the 200PL quick release plates on my tripods, monopods and about 8 cameras. The plates are inexpensive so whatever I want to shoot, DSLR, SLR, medium format, large, I can switch pretty quickly.JOHN M W : The 3Pod QRB 01 system is functionally equivalent to the Manfrotto 323 RC 2 quick release. They are not the same as the more commonly-used Arca-Swiss design. Both the 3Pod and Manfrotto bases (attached to your tripod or grip) use a lever to lock-in and to release the adapter plate (attached to the camera). The lever can be "cocked" open to receive the adapter. The camera with adapter plate clips into the front of the base plate and when pushed in and properly aligned, triggers the lever to snap shut partially securing the camera so it won't slip out of the base plate. You complete attachment by tightening the lever. I find this to be a more positive engagement and less likely to slip or get misaligned than Arca mounts, most of which require multiple turns of a thumb screw to open and then to tighten. The 3Pod/Manfroto designcan be engaged by a quick glance or even by feel rather than having to carefully align the dovetail and slide of the Arca design. The 3Pod is less expensive than the Manfrotto. I have four 3Pod bases - one on each tripod and grip that I use. The caveat is that most L-plates, cages, and camera grips have an Arca dovetail machined into the base. Adding the 3Pod/Manfrotto base means you'll end up with two 1/4" threaded mount connections between the tripod and the camera. This can get pretty sloppy or rotate more easily - especially with a long lens attached.Juan G : Yes I recommend this quick release, work perfectly good.JOHN C : Highly recommend it, even on a monopod, it's levels let you know you have a level picture. I have mine on an old Slik with a video head. It provides a leveling feature and supports some long lenses. I use it for landscapes and sky gazing. I have Manfrotto 234RC Monopod Heads on my monopods. I like the tilt ability so I don't have to bend up or down or lean my monopod. I took pictures of the Sun rising over Camelback Mountain this morning, holding the monopod against the porch railing and tilting the head as necessary. I would recommend the 234RC Monopod Head with quick release..

smaller base - can`t fit manfrotto!

I buy 3 different plates of the same type, And found that this one built wrong and you can`t fit another plate in.

Average Q/R Plate

The lock levers look very confusing because the secondary/small metal lever does not have any value added. I believe the intent of the design is the secondary/small metal lever must be in-line (pressed in) with the primary/big metal lever to unlock in order to remove the plate but it does not do that. It means you don't need to use it to unlock the primary/big metal lever. I hope my explanation is clear. This is why it is cheaper than other brands.

Reasonably priced and works very well.

I would highly recommend this product, it seems to be made of high quality materials and I really like all the bubble levels on this, very easy to get level camera shots I use this with my Canon Rebel DSLR. Very nice price point for someone on a budget.
