I'm a sound/mixer-audio engineer, and use these plates to attach to camera bodies and or gold mounts for batteries, etc...  They provide a good solid fit and come off easily. The capture screws that stay in place are a big plus. I have velcro on mine so I can quickly attach or detach my receivers. 

One con. Wish they were cheaper, after all, there's not a whole lot to them. One aluminum plate and two screws.
