This Mac Mini is a bargain - which is exactly what the mini was always supposed to be. For a couple of hundred dollars more, you can buy an entry level mini with Apple's new M silicon and it is also a very strong performer. Unfortunately, the newer machines have no upgrade potential so you are basically stuck with what you are willing to buy up front. With this older Intel based machine, you can at least upgrade the RAM - not sure about the internal SSD? The supplied 512GB SSD has a very reasonable capacity (at this price point) and remarkable performance. Excess drive capacity and time machine backup capability can of course be added via external drives. Minis are often used to drive retail signage so the specs allow this machine to drive a couple of monitors of impressive resolution - although gamers could probably find fault with the frame rates. If you have a decent monitor or two and an old Apple keyboard and mouse kicking around, this Mini will give you the powerful desktop capability on the cheap.

This Mac mini is the last generation of the intel Mac minis. It is incredibly fast. Adorama was one of the few places I have found that had this model in stock.

This little gem is a great computer and has everything one needs to operate a MAC desktop on the cheap. Could not recommend it more highly.

I'm using the MINI as the central brains in a home entertainment center. From my perspective and given that I'm an OS fan it simply could not be better for me. The Mini is more than capable, fast and I can't believe I'm saying this but a great price at this price point. A nice array of ports gives this edition of the Mini and added advantage. The Mac was packed in a well cushioned package in a time fashion.

I use this computer solely for music production and the 32GB RAM drastically increased my headroom to work on large files. It also has fantastic heat dissipation. No longer am I worrying about whether my computer can handle the workload, I am free to focus on the music. Adorama also shipped it super fast and had a great deal. Highly recommended.

Sooooo fast! Works like a charm. Has plenty of ports so I can run 3 displays and still have more for my audio interface and usb peripherals.

I love it for so many reasons, but my concern is with the very small hard drive. I have be certain to remove downloads and leave so many of my files in the cloud. That seems to help quite a bit.

Product was as expected, and packaged very well. Intuitive setup for novice. Paid extra for quick shipping, which did not really happen. It was shipped from the factory several days after I placed the order. Why does it take several days to leave from Apple warehouse??? So the company who builds a computer that can do everything can't manage to ship out their product the next day?

Handle P.S editing well. Easy to upgrade. Great little of everything computer. Have not experience any heating problem I heard about. Had to purchase a few USB to type C adapters so I can use all the ports. I’m pretty satisfy with the Mac Mini.

Works perfectly for us. We are using it to stream OBS and do some other video editing. We upgrade the RAM on our own, but the machine is perfect for our needs.

This is the cheapest way to get a 6 core processor that runs OSX. I upgraded the ram myself (it was fairly easy) and now am very happy with the performance.

Needed to get a new computer strictly for my studio and I’m very pleased so far with this Mac Mini. It was very snappy straight out of the box but purchased 64 gigs of ram and installed it myself to circumvent Apple’s exuberant upgrade pricing. Could not be happier with the price to performance ratio.

Pretty painless and trouble-free from the get go! Had to wait a couple days before my Adorama credit card would work on the site, but once that was sorted, ordered on a Friday, my order was submitted to Apple the following Sunday, a week and a half later, here's my brand new i7 Mac mini! So far so good, running smooth as silk compared to the 2010 Mac Pro it replaced, and no more choking in Logic Pro anymore!

I've had apple computers since my first Apple II (1979). This is the next in a long line of apple products, boasting larger RAM and hard drive than the mid-2011 mini it is replacing.

I'm not a big fan of Mac mini, but this model makes me happy every time. I usually use it for Logic pro x(Digital Audio Workstation). Really fast and no buffering even use many tracks. I strongly recommend it.

I had a Late 2012 Macbook Pro with maxed out specs (16 GB of Ram) which served me well these past 8 years. I recently purchased a 32" Wacom Cintiq Pro, and I got fed up with having to deal with opening and closing the lid on the MBP, and then the USB ports stopped working on the MBP. So I looked seriously at upgrading at long last. I opted for the Mac Mini because I wanted a headless Mac (I wanted to use my Wacom Cintiq as my primary and only monitor), and the Mac Pro was excessively expensive with a bare-bones build starting at 6K. I thought about going for the latest 13" MacBook Pro but again, I didn't want to deal with the lid and having to wake up the machine or deal with clamshell mode unpredictability and heating issues. I also didn't want to have to plug and unplug everything the way I've been doing for several years, it gets old, a Hub helps, but I still had a minimum of 3 plugs to plug in and unplug everytime. I also learned that when it comes to E-GPUs it's problematic to have a system with a GPU already. The Mac Mini respresented the sweet spot for me. That being said the 2020 MBP is not really an upgrade from the 2018 Mac Mini, but I decided to get it anyways since the cooling system is supposed to be slightly better (30% improved compared to the 2018 model) and I needed a computer now, not later. I also like the idea that I can easily buy the next gen Mac Mini and sell my current Mac Mini without much fuss if I want to. I purchased this model with the 8 GB option since the RAM is upgradeable and resulted in a savings of 50% compared to Apple's Ram upgrade options. I purchased 64GB from OWC Macsales, but did see there are better deals to be had. I opted to buy the IFixIt Pro Tech Toolkit to have the tools I needed to do the upgrade and for future projects, it's ok but I think somewhat overpriced for what you get. I had spent considerable time trying to put together a piecemeal tool set with higher quality tools, but found that it was too expensive that way. I have very little experience with electronics work and I was able to do it fine, although I will note that I am technically inclined. Even before I upgraded the RAM I was really impressed at the speed of this Mac Mini. The SSD is mindblowing fast. I was able to run Windows 10 in Parallels like it was it's own rock solid computer, and that was something I was worried this Mac Mini wouldn't be able to pull off with just the Intel GPU. With the Ram upgrade my system is even more solid and svelte. I'm very happy with this purchase. I will probably purchase a external GPU (Razer X) for video editing and graphics work, but for the one-off image edit or short video this Mac Mini is more than capable of handling casual needs. I really appreciate having more IO ports as well for USB A and USB C as I still have many USB A peripherals. All in all I am very satisfied with the Mac Mini, it's a great little companion for the Wacom Cintiq and is a very versatile product all around albeit at a somewhat steep price tag for what you get.

Mac mini is a winner!

It's silent. It's fast. It's value. This Mac mini replaced a Mac G5 tower unit in a advertising design studio environment. I run Photoshop and InDesign everyday amongst others and they are fast on the mini. The unit does not ship with a manual and a check of the Apple site only yielded a copy of the same mini info folders that ship with the unit. The Apple site does have a copy of the 2111 mac mini manual available for free download and that seems to cover the 2012/13 models fine. Adorama was...

Purchased the Mac Mini to run my recording studio. This thing is awesome.
The new Apple Mac Mini features its biggest updates yet. This desktop powerhouse is designed to be better and faster than ever, with upgrades such as the new 8th Generation 6-Core (Intel Core i5 and i7) and Quad-Core (Intel Core i3) processors; faster 2666MHz DDR4 memory; ultra-fast SSD storage of up to 2TB; and stunning Intel UHD graphics. While it looks essentially the same, the Mini has been re-engineered to perform up to five times faster in order to meet the ever-increasing needs of desktop users—all without compromising its convenience and portability by retaining its compact form factor. Thanks to these improvements, launching multiple apps, loading heavy files, and carrying out other RAM-intensive tasks that typically come with professional workflows is now a cinch. The new Mini is also pre-equipped with macOS Mojave (the newest successor to macOS High Sierra) to deliver the latest built-in apps, a more comprehensive Dark Mode, the organizational Stacks feature, and other professional-level upgrades. To further increase its versatility and functionality, the new Mac Mini comes with a variety of advanced ports, including four Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C), one HDMI 2.0, two USB-A, and 10Gb Ethernet.
The brand new iPad Pro has made its debut, featuring an all-screen design, which Apple marks as the “biggest change to the iPad ever.” It is available in both 11-inch and 12.9-inch Liquid Retina versions that include clean rounded edges, and features Face ID to unlock (like the iPhone X, the home button has disappeared).

With quad- and 6-core processors, up to 64GB of faster memory and blazing fast all-flash storage, the new Mac mini delivers an insane five times faster performance, making it the most powerful Mac mini ever made.1 And with Thunderbolt 3 ports, the Apple T2 Security Chip and a 10Gb Ethernet option, the new Mac mini is a faster and more capable desktop that can do so much more.
Now with quad- and 6-core 8th-generation Intel Core processors with Turbo Boost Speeds up to 4.6GHz and Intel UHD graphics, Mac mini delivers up to five times faster performance than the previous generation.1 Mac mini now rips through traditional desktop tasks like photo and video editing, music creation and software development, and crushes pro workflows including video transcoding, code compiling and live musical performances.
“Mac mini is loved by customers for its ability to be used in incredibly diverse environments — from casual desktop use, to multiple Mac mini computers powering through video renderings and compiling software code, anywhere a small-but-mighty Mac is needed to get the job done,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.
"Mac mini customers are going to flip over the new Mac mini. It has more than five times the performance, up to 6-core desktop-class processors, an Apple T2 Security Chip, faster memory up to 64GB, high-performance all-flash storage, and is packed with advanced ports including four Thunderbolt 3, two USB-A, HDMI video, audio and Ethernet up to 10Gbps."
With four Thunderbolt 3 ports, twice as many Thunderbolt ports as the previous generation and each with double the performance, the new Mac mini can connect to high speed storage, 4K and 5K Thunderbolt displays, and output video in three formats. Mac mini also features an HDMI 2.0 port, two USB-A ports, an audio jack and Gigabit Ethernet, so it can connect to almost anything. And for super fast networking performance, Mac mini offers a 10Gb Ethernet option for the first time.
