This program has been discontinued and replaced with the Apple Care + (Plus) program. The new program is more expensive but now includes some accidental coverage, alebit with deductibles. It is also international coverage.

This is a GREAT alternative to the "new" AppleCare which is significantly more expensive. Yes it doesn't offer quote the complete protection as the "new" AppleCare but Adorama's "older" AppleCare is all I've ever needed. Be sure to get these while they're still around. Supposedly Apple is ONLY going to sell the "new" AppleCare direct so these probably won't be around for long.

Accidental damage is not covered with this plan and the description is not very clear. Except these this product is good for basic warranty coverage.

I can confirm that it works for 15" Macbook Pro Touchbar 2017. You'll need to call in to support. They're friendly about it and will add Applecare with no issues (make sure you have your macbook serial number and Applecare number ready to go). I believe someone said they got upgraded to Applecare Plus. I didn't receive that. Just regular Applecare.

Apple's tech support is worth every penny and is a must for as long as you can have it. Their reps will spend whatever time is necessary to resolve your issues. The more complicated these computers become, the more you need periodic help.

I never buy the extra warranty on electronics, except for Apple Care. It has always been a simple no hassle process to get a repair done if needed and the Apple Stores make it somewhat convenient - just wish there was a store closer to me.

Cheaper than buying through Apple, and cheaper still because I was able to mail in a $ dollar rebate. That is a good bit of savings for a college student on a budget. Definitely worth it and always good to have extra protection!

Applying for the rebate is a pain and I think they do it on purpose. First you have to complete an online questionnaire, for the only purpose of getting a pdf that you need to print and then mail along with very specific information (it has to be the invoice mailed with the package, can't be the email confirmation as proof of purchase). They can make this process more user friendly, but they probably won't; I'm sure there are plenty out there who will just give up on the process not thinking it's worth the 30 bucks.

This is not really a physical product to review. It is extended warranty on an outstanding product which most likely is unnecessary. It becomes a personal choice if this insurance makes one more comfortable. I typically pass on purchasing extended coverage and in this case I must have purchased it out of impulse since I have never had a problem with a Mac laptop in the first 8 to 10 years.
