This does add height when needed, compared to the 2-section model, but the topmost section is a bit thin in my opinion.  Total weight of light+modifiers I use on the 2-section model equals 12-15 pounds, but on this I'd stick with lighter combinations, maybe eight pounds total.  Just doesn't feel strong enough to not sway.

I do have the heavy-duty Avenger roller stands for seriously heavy stuff.

Just test with weights to find your safety and comfort zone before going live!

Overall, this is a studio necessity if you have lights that need to go over nine feet.  Smooth rollers, solid construction, and so much easier than lifting and inching into place.
