The Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2023) — Apple’s informative technology conference where new technologies and products are announced — is happening now, having kicked off on Monday, June 6th. This year, the WWDC has some pretty big announcements including a few new computers, as well as updates to all of your favorite Apple devices. To save you time, we’ve compiled everything noteworthy from this year’s WWDC 23 so far.
MacBook Air 15”
Incredible performance meets ultraportable in Apple’s new MacBook Air 15″. Featuring the M2 chip and up to 18 hours of battery life, in addition to a beautiful Liquid Retina display, the laptop is set to offer a beautiful picture that lasts longer than ever before.
This new laptop comes in four colors, made eco-friendly with a durable 100-percent recycled aluminum enclosure. A fanless design gives silent operation, a three-microphone array gives amazing audio quality, and a superfast SSD storage launches apps and opens files in an instant. The MacBook Air has been, and will continue to be, an excellent choice for the consumer using their computer for personal or professional use, as it’s both compact and ultra-fast.
Mac Studio
The Mac Studio is receiving major upgrades just announced at WWDC 2023. Users will have the option to choose between the M2 Max and M2 Ultra chips in their new Mac Studio:
- M2 Max: 12-core CPU, up to 38-core GPU, up to 96GB unified memory, and 400GB/s memory bandwidth
- M2 Ultra: 24-core CPU, up to 76-core GPU, up to 192GB unified memory, and 800GB/s memory bandwidth
In other words, you can choose between incredibly fast or even faster. You can expect up to 1.8x faster performance than the 27-inch iMac, and even up to 3.6x faster for graphics-intensive pro workflows. Featuring four Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, an HDMI port, 10gb Ethernet port, SDXC card slot, and a headphone jack, the Mac Studio has everything a creator needs in their studio computer.
Mac Pro
If the Mac Studio isn’t enough, the new Mac Pro offers even more impressive specs for the most demanding creatives in the industry. Apple silicon performance is combined with PCle expansion for very specialized workflows. No matter how you configure your Mac Pro, it will hold the new M2 Ultra chip. Offering speeds 1.8x faster than a 28-core Intel-base Mac Pro, 3.4x faster graphics performance, and support for to eight displays, the Mac Pro is certain to fulfill the needs of even the most rigorous creators today. The Mac Pro comes in both tower and rack configurations to best fit your space.

The WWDC 2023 brings the biggest updates to Apple Watch since their release. Many of your favorite apps are seeing a redesign so “you can see and do more, faster than ever,” according to Apple. A new Smart Stack feature gives you all of the information you need in a quick and easy way. You’ll now also be able to activate the Control Center from any app by pressing the side button. There are new features for both hikers and cyclists, including a ton of new views within apps on your watch. You can even log your mental health, improve your vision health, and make custom fitness plans all within the interface of your Apple Watch.
iPadOS17 for iPads
iPadOS17 will bring more levels of personalization and more features to make your iPad more capable than ever. The lock screen is becoming even more customizable, even allowing motion effects for Live Photo wallpaper. You will now be able to add widgets to the lock screen to give you the information you need most at a quick glance. New updates to the Messages app make messaging better than ever, FaceTime now allows video voicemail, and Safari is seeing some great updates for those that use their iPad for both work and personal use.
The updates to these apps will also be seen in iOS17 for iPhone.
Adaptive Audio
While Apple’s popular AirPods didn’t receive a major hardwear update today, new audio features seen in iOS17 will help make the AirPods even better than before. The new update allows the AirPods to tune the noise cancelation and transparency mode levels of your device based on the environment. Simply put, you can expect to have a better noise control experience between your changing environments throughout the day.
