Building upon the legacy of its existing Full-Frame High Speed Prime Line, Sigma has just announced a new FF Classic Prime Line as part of its cinema lens offering. The new “Classic Art Prime” is on display at the 2019 International Broadcasting Convention (IBC), and includes 10 prime lenses, ranging from 14mm to 135mm.

Key Features:

  • PL mount (Cooke “/i Technology” compatible)
  • Image circle diameter: FF 43.3mm
  • Illumination circle diameter: over 46.3mm
  • Focus ring: Marked in feet
  • 9 diaphragm blades
  • Sold as a set of 10 primes

The series has additional non-coated optical elements to give users the ultimate expression. Not only are the lenses combining low contrast and artistic flare and ghosting, as well as the high resolution of the Sigma cine lenses, they also include gorgeous bokeh for added individuality and creative opportunities.

To simplify your postproduction workflow, Sigma has added new coatings on the glass elements, and T values that generally remain steady throughout the lineup — the 14mm and the 135mm are at AT3.2; the rest are T2.5. Additionally, for VFX filmmaking, Sigma has incorporated Cooke “/i Technology” protocol that’s preferred while shooting and editing.

The full Sigma FF Classic Prime Line includes:

  • 14mm T3.2 FF
  • 20mm T2.5 FF
  • 24mm T2.5 FF
  • 28mm T2.5 FF
  • 35mm T2.5 FF
  • 40mm T2.5 FF
  • 50mm T2.5 FF
  • 85mm T2.5 FF
  • 105mm T2.5 FF
  • 135mm T3.2 FF

Pricing and availability will be announced later this year. Stay tuned for more details!
