As stated above, the camera is shockproof from 1.6 meters, waterproof for up to two hours at 14 meters, coldproof down to 14 degrees Fahrenheit, and crushproof up to 100 kilogram force (kgf). So whether you plan on diving to capture underwater scenes, snowboarding the peaks, or just happen to drop the camera while hiking, the Ricoh WG-60 will be able to handle the elements.
Shooting specs and pluses:
The WG-60 has a CMOS sensor with a top sensitivity of 6400 ISO and is capable of 5X optical zoom. But, what makes the camera appealing is the variety of scene modes. Users can bounce between presets such as Underwater Mode, Night Scene, and Movie. The Underwater mode is effective in that it sharpens images and keeps contrast despite diffusion of light below the surface. The camera also has six macro lights that circle the lens, so users can shoot bright and clean portrait photos, as well as lighten up other scenarios. The WG-60 does not feature 4K recording and is instead Full HD (1920×1080), but the new Ricoh is compatible with FlashAir WiFi SD cards, so you can connect the camera to a mobile device to download and share photos.
The Ricoh WG-60 will be available in black and red and is available for preorder now for on Adorama.com.
