The Westcott FJ400 is the first portable 400Ws AC/DC strobe that features recycle speeds of less than a second (0.05 to 0.9 second), and holds more than 480 full-power flashes in a single charge. The strobe is also compatible with the FJ-X2m universal wireless trigger (more on that below).

The unit also comes equipped with a Bowens S-Type mount and self-monitoring cooling fans to keep it cool. The strobe has accurate color temperature throughout its whole 9 F-stop energy output range (in 0.1 and 1.0 increments). It features 5500K (± 150K) across the entire energy range, is capable of continuous capture up to 20 frames per second, and has high-speed sync up to 1/8000s, TTL, plus rear curtain sync capabilities. All of this power is held in six groups and 16 wireless channels, and in a portable, lightweight body.

Alongside the strobe, Westcott has also launched the FJ-X2m universal wireless trigger, allowing you to pair it with practically any camera out there to utilize the full power of the FJ400.

The trigger is compatible with Canon, Canon RT, Nikon, Sony (with an adapter), Fuji, Panasonic Lumix, and Olympus cameras, meaning no matter what system you use, the Westcott trigger is a natural pair. It utilizes a 2.4GHz radio frequency, has 16 wireless channels in 6 native groups, and 10 app groups. It has a USB Type-C and 2.5mm (flash) ports, is compatible with the mobile app and Bluetooth.

The FJ-X2m’s large display and controllable menu mean you can power TTL and HSS all from the front display. It also holds a built-in rechargeable lithium ion battery that can power 200,000 flashes in one charge cycle.

The Westcott FJ400 () and FJ-X2m (), as well as additional kits are available for preorder now at Adorama.
