The shooting modes:

The Genie Mini II offers shooters an assortment of shooting modes to satisfy every scenario. If users want to get going right out of the box, the Mini II offers simple preset options like Fast, Slow, People, Clouds, Stars, and Night Traffic.

Beyond the presets, the Genie Mini II provides a Timelapse, Real-time Motion Video, Product Turntable, Panorama, and Keyframing modes. A quick breakdown of each:

  • Time-lapse mode: Gives users control over the recording time, interval, angle, and play time for precise time-lapse shots.
  • Real-time motion video mode: Your standard video recording, but with professional panning and smoothness.
  • Product turntable mode: Perfect for any still-life and product photographer. Users can capture high-quality, 360-degree shots of objects and products. Product Turntable required.
  • Panorama: The Genie Mini II comes with a traditional, 360-degree panorama function, and a Multi-Row Panorama mode. Multi-row mode allows users to sync two Genie Mini II’s and create up to five rows and unlimited columns columns of panoramic shots to create a super resolution shot.
  • Keyframing mode: Intended for advanced users, Keyframing permits users to set different motion speeds, directions, and movements over time for superior control. The Genie Mini II can add 10 total keyframes — the original Genie Mini allowed for five.

On top of all these shooting modes, users can link up with another Genie Mini II to mimic Pan Tilt motion (like mentioned above in Panorama mode), or pair with a Genie II Linear to manipulate across 3-axis.

The build:

The layout of the Mini II is similar to that of the Mini, but with some significant upgrades. The Bluetooth has been improved to increase connection speeds between the Mini II and Syrp Genie II app. With the app, users have control over every motion controller function. The app is designed to be simple, straightforward, and intuitive so users can focus on creating.

The battery lasts up to 15 hours when using time-lapse and up to six hours when video recording, so be sure to charge if you’re headed out for a long shoot. The Genie Mini II weighs in at only 8.8lbs, keeping portability a pro. And notably, the Syrp Genie Mini II is compatible with most everything including DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, and video cameras.
