Questions & Answers

Shopper : Are these 12 pairs of gloves (24) or just 12 gloves?carrie w : PairROBERT K : It's a package of 12 pairs of white cotton gloves (24), size large, item #61-002.BRIAN H : It's 12 pairs of gloves for a total of 24 gloves.BONNIE D : Pretty sure there are 12 gloves in the package. The description says "12 Pack", not "12 Pair" and the gloves aren't Left or Right like fitted gloves, they go on either hand. I don't dry mine in the dryer (but have by mistake). Stretch them before putting them on, unless your hands are small.BONNIE D : 12 pair or 12 gloves? I ordered one package of gloves in August 2010. I think there were 12 gloves, not 12 pairs. However, I've used them over and over (wash & dry) and they have held up well. They are not fitted particularly well, strictly for photo-work, etc. but are sturdy. The only problem I have is that they are tighter where your fingers meet your hand, like tight rings, so if your fingers are not thin, you may find them uncomfortable because of that. Don't know if the quality has remained the same, since I bought them over 4 years ago.BOB P : There is 12 pairs of gloves (24 individual gloves).EDWARD L : I believe it was 12 pairs, but I ordered these years ago.
JOSEPH P : At Amazon, a number of customers complained that the large is not large enough for a male hand; they are sized in relation to female hand sizes. Is this true in your experience? Does Adorama offer these gloves in extra-large?EDWARD L : I wear large men's gloves, but these (size large) work for me ok. You don't need a perfect fit.Jeanine C : I bought the large size and I have plenty of room, but I am a woman with a ring size of 8-9. I would think a man would fare better with an extra-large which comes in the nylon material. The glove material does stretch, so it would depend on the size of your hand.RANDY B : the gloves do run small. as to the availability of extra-large you have to check with the vendorBOB P : The lack of an x-lrg size is the only draw back with this item. My hands are long and skinny. I can get the gloves on with effort the first time, after that they are stretched enough to fit. I will re order since these gloves do an excellent job, no lint. The small size is an inconvienience. Bob P.LINDA M : I bought a package of these, I am a woman, they are a bit loose on me. The fabric is a little stretchy. I asked my husband, who is a big guy, to put them on. He did and they stretched enough to fit him, so I would say these are Ok for men too.PETER H : I have these gloves in the large size. When I buy winter gloves my hands normally fit large size. The Archival cotton gloves fit my hands but are fairly tight. When I first put them on I need to push the fabric down between my fingers. They are made of a cotton material that stretches as I use them. The snug fit seems good for transmitting feel when handling small items like film or slides so I have no complaints.AJ J : I bought both sizes Large and XLarge. Both seem to be sized about right with the large stretching a bit and the xlarge fitting fine.BONNIE D : I bought the Large size in Archival Methods White Cotton Gloves; I have large hands(for a woman), not thick or fat, but long fingers and a larger than normal width across the palm. Most often, large women's gloves are too small for me. The Archival cotton gloves are long enough in the fingers, but are too tight around the base of the fingers(where a ring would go). The thumb and the little finger are difficult to tell apart, especially after laundering. The saving grace of these gloves is, if you can get them on, they do stretch some, and for me are not uncomfortable. Sometimes I stretch them before I put them on, and that helps, but I can't say they actually "fit". I think most men would find them too small, and I don't see an Extra Large size, or even other brands, available at Adorama. You might check other online sites. It is good that they don't wear out, even the seams have remained intact after repeated washings; they just don't fit well. BonnieMARK D : I always use an X-large glove for all purposes. These cotton gloves fit me fine. They stretch. BTW, you can wash them and use them about 4 times. After that they are rags. Not a bad deal at all.PIRATE L : My hands are wide, but not so long. The gloves fit me well.MICHAEL B : Yes, this is true. I don't believe Adorama offers them in extra large. The large is more like a small to medium, at least compared to my hands. They work, but they are certainly small.EDWARD L : I guess the gloves are a little on the small side, but I didn't notice this until I got your email. They fit snug on my hand, which is good. The fingers are not long enough, but it isn't a big deal. I worked in a laboratory for years, and used large sized gloves, which were larger than these. However, for me, they do what they are supposed to do, keep my greasy paws of my prints.
susan m : Are these gloves washable? Are the medium weight gloves more expensive?carrie w : If hand wash. Very reasonable prices.EDWARD L : I don't recommend washing them. I found them unusable after washing, because of shrinkage, if I remember correctly.BOB P : Are these gloves washable? Not really, after being washed they leave lint on your prints. Once the lint hairs come in contact with wet or damp Ink it is next to impossible to remove. After the gloves become soiled I throw them away. Are the medium weight gloves more expensive? I don't know.LINDA M : Yes, they are washable, the product summary says so and I have washed them, althought I did it by hand, not in a washing machine. You will have to compare the prices of various gloves. I am not sure if the medium weight gloves are more expensive, more expensive than which ones?? not clear with this question??PETER H : I have some of these cotton gloves and I must confess I've never washed them. When they get grubby I trash them. However, as they are cotton I believe that I could wash them successfully using cold water and a dishwashing detergent. (I think they would shrink if washed in hot water.) Drying them should be possible by laying them out on a clean bath towel. Or maybe you can track down a glove drying rack such as victorian ladies used?BONNIE D : I bought Archival Methods White Cotton Gloves, pkg of 12, (61002) over a year ago. I've used them over and over, as they wash up very well, and haven't fallen apart at all. I dry them on the line, they haven't shrunk. I can't say how they'd fare in a dryer. I use them for photo and negative work. I bought the Large size. They could fit better; they might not fit a large man's hand. I have large hands and long fingers, not fat, and a couple of the fingers seem too snug, but they strech out as I use them, so that they are comfortable. I would buy these gloves again, they are a good value.PETER G : Yes, these gloves are washable, but use no bleach to prevent bleach damaging prints or negatives. I don't think the medium weight gloves are available anymore. The gloves are fine, but not as good as the old and discontinued Kodak versions of the 80's and 90'sJOHN C : I can't answer the second question, but I can the first. They are washable, but not being pre-shrunk, they will shrink considerably, especially if you dry them in a drier. I would suggest that you buy oversized gloves, if you plan to wash them. I have just washed my hands while wearing the gloves with soap and warm water when they get a little dirty, but these gloves are really meant for one-time use. They breathe, so I just leave them on my hands and they dry from the warmth of my hands and the dry climate where I live. They shrink to fit my hands. I processed over thiry years worth of 35mm negatives for scanning and did not work my way through even one package of the gloves. I still have almost a half a package left. They are cheap. I usually just dispose of them when they get soiled. They do start to separate at the seams after long use. It really isn't worth it to wash them.PAUL T : I've washed/dried these gloves and they seem to handle it just fine. I don't know about the second question.

Keep your finger prints to yourself

These gloves are needed for avoiding finger prints when handling negatives. Simple and basic but they do the job. They run small. I wear a medium size glove in winter wear so I ordered these in a large. Still a bit snug but works fine.

Not All That Impressed

This product started out great but after printing about 25 photos the next photo was completely smeared with ALOT of ink which wasted a ton of ink and ruined a sheet of premuin photo paper. Now I am having problems with loading larger format photo paper in the from feeder. I keep getting error messages. The printer is amazing when it works. I’m disappointed with this however. I am not sure what to do. It has a warranty but how do I go about getting it repaired? I have a new business and don’t want to send it back because it would take too long.

Don't overlook the cheapest accessories!

For many of us who grew up with film, the scanning process has one essential accessory often overlooked. And this accessory is inexpensive, time saving and good for your old film--GLOVES! I had added these gloves to my wish list and previously overlooked adding them to my purchase list when checking out. But now I have them and they save time and touching up time. One of the best buys one should add to the cart when ordering!

Cotton Inspection Gloves

These gloves are exactly what I wanted. We have a wide format print shop and these gloves are a lifesaver for handling and trimming your prints. Also helps in loading and unloading media into your printer. I would recommend these gloves for anyone who deals with fine art work, you will not be disappointed. Be sure to get the right size! Thanks Adorama!

Your basic white

I bought these to handle prints. These gloves are not really any particular size. I have small hands but I can use them. There is some "extra" space so may work for someone with larger hands and they appear to stretch a bit.

That Do What They Need To Do

For some reason white cotton gloves for handling photos become unstitched easily. Would be nice if the were a little more durable.

No fingerprints or smudges on photo prin

Use these while handling photo prints. These gloves can also be used for putting cream on the hands and going to sleep with them so that the cream has a chance to be really absorbed by the skin.
