I replaced a Toshiba Satellite that was 7 years old. So I'm certain any newer product would seem better. But I have been a Windows computer user since day one so I know the features important to me. In no specific order the features I wanted were a matte screen, numeric pad on the keyboard, built-in camera (no my old laptop did not have that), moderate price and decent speed and storage space. I like the placement of the USB ports so the stick can be out of the way on left or right side. I like all the features I mentioned above. And although I was wary of Windows 10, I am 95% satisfied with it compared to Windows 7 and it does have some features I think are much better. Because my laptop was old this one seems very fast and responsive. In general the keyboard is comfortable to use and the soft touch is very nice. The laptop is slim-line and lightweight for a laptop of its size. It runs cool (my Toshiba did not) and is quiet. There are a few minor flaws I will mention but overall not enough cons for me to down grade the rating. Here are a few cons. The size of the built-in mouse pad is cumbersome if you use it and the keyboard as you can hit it inadvertently. I use a wireless mouse and, although I had to Google it to find out, you can turn off the built-in keypad. The layout of some keys is shifted a bit to the right of what I was use to so I am learning, in particular, the arrow keys and delete button placements. Also, except for on screen, there is no indication, like back lighting, that the Caps Lock or Numeric Lock is on. Other quirks have more to do with Windows and not the PC itself. But as I mentioned I am fine with Windows 10. I am not a gamer or watch videos all the time so I can't make comments on speed etc but the graphics seem fine and I love the no glare matte screen. I have had the computer for about a month now and use it nearly daily. I use EXCEL, WORD, POWERPOINT, use the internet constantly and email. Hope this helps in some decision making.
