Cheryl h : Does this fit the 3011n tripod?RICH S : I beleive all tripods with a 3/8 connection use a 3/8-16 thread pattern. To confirm yours does I suggest taking it to a hardware store and seeing if a 3/8-16 nut fits on it. The people at the hardware store can help you find the right nut to try. If it fits then this adapter will work.JOYCE S : I am using the Adaptor Plate on a Monfrotto 190. Not sure about the 3011 tripod. Sorry.ALLEN O : 3011 n center column has a plate with a 3/8" stud. This adapter has a 3/8" threaded hole on one side and a 1/4'' stud on the other side allowing a camera (1/4") to be directly attached to the center column plate. Yes it fits.
Jamie S : I have a 1/4" tripod center stand and I just recently bought the Manfrotto side arm that seems to have a 3/8" female as well. Will this part aid in connecting the side arm to the tripod? Thanks.VERN H : YES! I have one... it works very well!JOYCE S : I needed the 120 Adapter Plate for use with my Adorama Macro Rail. The 3/8 female fit perfectly onto the tripod and 1/4 end fit the Macro Rail. I would think as long as you have the space for the side arm it will work. I am sure you can return the Adapter if not. Hope this helps and good luck.MARK W : I had the same problem. I personally feel the Manfrotto adapter you mention is overkill. There is a small 3/8 to 1/4 adapter made of chrome that fits into the 3/8 hole of the arm adapting it to the tripods 1/4 inch screw. That's how I adapter my side arm. The adapter I mention are very inexpensive and causes the arm and tripod to set flush on the tripod head.JOE B : The bottom of this converter is a 3/8 thread. It converts a 3/8 that you screw in the bottom to a 1/4 thread on the top. If your 3/8 is female it will not work. The 3/8 on the bottom of this device is a female with a 1/4 male on the top. Hope this helps.
Shopper : mounting plywood square onto tripod? mounting plates?JOYCE S : I use the adapter plate to connect my Adorama Macro Sliding Rail to the top of my tripod. The macro rail connector screw was smaller than the screw on top of the tripod plate. This adaptor connected the macro rail with the tripod perfectly. Hope this helps you.HARVEY M : This is strictly adapting a 1/4 inch thread tripod head to tripod legs that have a 3/8 inch stud on the column. There are options available at hardware stores for mounting plywood to a tripod head.

Works just fine, current version just has a knurled matte black edge, not the black and silver 'gear tooth' looking edge in the product photo.

Definitely worth the money I paid for it

Was going to make my own adapter, but the pricing of the Manfrotto adapter plate was competitive and less hassle. The adapter plate has three drilled and tapped holes for set screws to prevent the adapter from inadvertently backing off. It's locked onto the tripod very firmly. Definitely worth the money I paid for it.

Great little item

I use this device to modify my regular tripod screw to fit the smaller tripod hole on my GigaPan. It negated the use of a ball head which added too much additonal weight.
