Works just fine, current version just has a knurled matte black edge, not the black and silver 'gear tooth' looking edge in the product photo.

Was going to make my own adapter, but the pricing of the Manfrotto adapter plate was competitive and less hassle.
The adapter plate has three drilled and tapped holes for set screws to prevent the adapter from inadvertently backing off. It's locked onto the tripod very firmly.

Needed this Tripod Adopter plate to go with the Adorama Macro Rail - now I able to get those close up macro shots.  Perfect!

Solid and works as promised

Everyone who travels and takes photos should have this adapter. Comes in handy when you borrow a tripod with only a 3/8" mounting screw and no tripod head.

A much needed gadget for all

This adapter plate converts a 3/8-16 thread used by some tripods to the more common 1/4-20 thread which is the standard on cameras.  It is solid, well made, and works as advertised.

Perfect Adapter

I use this device to modify my regular tripod screw to fit the smaller tripod hole on my GigaPan.  It negated the use of a ball head which added too much additonal weight.
